My understanding was that he was serviceable in NO after being burnt apples in NYG.

Semi-serviceable at times, really solid at times, burnt apples at times.

he’s not consistent but teams can and do field worse players than him.

This is my perspective. For cheap (I'm assuming a 1 year) and being young, he's not the end of the world as a young prove it stopgap.

Serviceable is a major upgrade for us at CB.

This.  Trayvon Mullen is our #1.  He did well last year and I expect him to grow.  After him, we have Worley, Isaiah Johnson, Keisean Nixon and Nevin Lawson.

Apple can come in and start @ #2

Unfortunately from what I saw last year and I was lucky enough to see a bunch of Saints games, he’s not as good as the guys we had. PI waiting to happen, especially if he dons the silver and black.......not a fan of this signing at all.
