Eagles trade for CB Darius Slay

If you talk to or read anything that Lions fans have to say about his play, and why it may not have been as spectacular as it was in years past, you'll come away informed.  From what I see, their DL is awful, giving the QB a lot of time to throw and WRs to get open. Their fans love him and wanted him back. That tells you everything you need to know.

Good thing our DL isn't aging or declining. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm in the boat no CBs would have had success last year. DL play was down.

It's an objective upgrade to our CB unit. He's an objectively good player. If you read through the pages in his trade thread over in the DET forum, you get the sense that Slay was more than just a good player for them. He was their BEST player who, some of their fans, say take them from possibly being a good team, to losing him and being bad again. Do yourselves favors and go read through those threads in the DET forum.

This is a great trade.

Some of you complain that Howie can't draft.....but then complain when he sends a 3rd and a 5th (which, in your eyes, should be basically worthless anyway since "Howie iz teh suck" to Detroit for a corner who, even last season withstanding, has been a top 5-10 corner the last 5 years. He can still easily have years left in the tank. I see corners playing well into their 30s all the time.

From what I've read, Slay was a victim of a terrible unit around him, always being in man coverage with no help and zero pass rush up front. Detroit fans are upset. That is a good sign.

I'm very happy with this

If you aren't happy with this deal nothing will ever make you happy...

Huge pickup for our DBs. One more starting caliber corner and draft a young safety and our defense is looking scary...

Agreed all around. Well some LB’s would be helpful
