1st mock with trades, 1 round

Couple of surprises here, the draft never goes according to plan and so I tried to reflect that with some guys falling out of round 1, while others maybe making a surprise appearance. I also threw in a few trades.

1. Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU - barring a trade, this is obvious

2. Redskins: Chase Young, Edge, Ohio State - No QB, it's a smoke screen

3. Lions: Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State - if they stay put this seems to be the logical pick especially after losing slay

4. Giants: Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville - they'll consider Simmons but ultimately have to protect jones

5. Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama - seems destined

6. Raiders via Chargers (#12, #80, 2021 2nd and 4th for #6, 2021 6th): Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson - I know people might not like this, LA can afford to move down and get one of the 2 QBs, while LV gets a stud defender

7. Carolina Panthers: Derrick Brown, DL, Auburn - with simmons gone Brown is liekly the next best player on defense

8. Arizona Cardinals: Tristan Wirfs, OL, Iowa - an Athletic tackle should be just what Kyler needs for a potential breakout year

9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Javon Kinlaw, DL, South Carolina - should fit right into calais campbell's old post, BPA arguably

10. Cleveland Browns: Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama - New book ends in wills and Conklin should help this offense get back on track

11. New York Jets: Josh Jones, OT, Houston - little bit of a surprise here, but I think Jones is better than people think and Douglas knows his O-line prospects. Maybe I'm wrong, but stranger things have happened.

12. Chargers via Raiders: Jordan Love, QB, Utah State - they opt for the poor man's mahomes over the potentially better version of phillip rivers

13. 49ers via Colts: CJ Henderson, CB, Florida - they would want to move down here I think, but with no good offers, a need at CB, and CB needy teams coming up I think this is where they would go in this spot

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia - protect TB12

15. Denver Broncos: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon - Surprise - I know they say they are in on Lock, but did he really show enough to give you supreme faith? They don't have their QB, why not keep trying and have an open competition? Maybe they go WR here, but I do expect all 4 rnd 1 QB prospects to go top 20, and maybe another at the end of the round

16. Atlanta Falcons: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama - Secondary is in bad shape in ATL

17. Dallas Cowboys: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU - See the Falcons

18. Dolphins via Steelers: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama - Pairs with Tua once again

19. Raiders via Bears: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma - Big Bodied WR for Carr's last chance

20. Packers via Jaguars via Rams (#30, #136, 2021 2nd & 5th for #20): Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma - GB lost a lot at LB this year, and Murray won't last to 30. I think moving up for a defensive leader is worth it. Maybe it's too much to give up, I'm sure you'll all tell me.

21. Eagles: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama - Targets for Wentz needed

22. Vikings (via Buffalo Bills): Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU - replaces Diggs

23. Patriots: Patrick Queen, LB, LSU - Fits right in as a versatile defender

24. Dolphins via Saints (#26, #141, #247 for #24): Austin Jackson, OT, USC - They jump the vikings to get a replacement for Laremy and protection for Tua

25. Minnesota Vikings: A.J. Terrell, CB, Clemson - Minny loves their corners...

26. Saints via Dolphins via Texans: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor - probably early but Payton is confident he can develop this raw talent

27. Seattle Seahawks: Yetur Gross-Matos, Edge, Penn State - Fills a glaring need for Seattle and fits the general mold there from a size perspective, maybe even is a little small

28. Baltimore Ravens: Cesar Ruiz, OL, Michigan - with Yanda retiring, guard is essential for this run based attack

29. Cowboys via Titans (#51, #82, #179 and 2021 2nd for #29 & #243): Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama - Dallas is going for it, signing everyone but jones, they rebuild the secondary here in round 1

30. Jaguars via  Packers: Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU - the secondary now needs reinforcements after Ramsey and Buoye have departed

31. San Francisco 49ers: A.J. Epenesa, Edge, Iowa - Steps in for Buckner

32. Kansas City Chiefs: Ross Blacklock, DL, TCU - Developmental DL prospect as insurance for if Chris Jones can't be resigned, lots of upside.

Nice draft.   I like the player however Pats need to rebuild and they don't have a 2nd rd pick. IMO the players in lower half of the 1, top 2nd round rate about the same.

Patriots trade the pick.

Example ----- Borrowed Goldfish 2nd RD   Pats trade 23rd to Colts for 2 2nd RD picks.   Queen or  Cole Kmet [ TE ] Notre Dame and Cesar Ruiz [ IOL ] Michigan

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many players could replace Queen with out a big deal.

33. Cincinnati  - Prince Tega Wanogho [ OT ] Auburn
34. Indianapolis (From Washington) - Laviska Shenault Jr. [ WR ] Colorado
35. Detroit  - Joshua Uche [ EDGE ] Michigan
36. NY Giants  - Grant Delpit [ S ] LSU
37. LA Chargers  - Jacob Eason [ QB ] Washington
38. Carolina  - A.J. Terrell [ CB ] Clemson
39. Miami  - D'Andre Swift [ RB ] Georgia
40. Arizona  - Lucas Niang [ OT ] TCU
41. Cleveland  - Kyle Duggar [ S ] Lenoir-Rhyne
42. Jacksonville  - Jaylon Johnson [ CB ] Utah
43. Chicago (From Las Vegas) - Cole Kmet [ TE ] Notre Dame
44. Indianapolis  - Ross Blacklock [ IDL ] TCU
45. Tampa Bay  - Terrell Lewis [ EDGE ] Alabama
46. Denver  - Isaiah Wilson [ OT ] Georgia
47. Atlanta  - Justin Madubuike [ IDL ] Texas A&M
48. NY Jets  - Tee Higgins [ WR ] Clemson
49. Pittsburgh  - Lloyd Cushenberry III [ IOL ] LSU
50. Chicago  - Antoine Winfield Jr [ S ] Minnesota
51. Dallas  - Damon Arnette [ CB ] Ohio State
52. LA Rams  - Cesar Ruiz [ IOL ] Michigan
53. Philadelphia  - Jeremy Chinn [ S ] Southern Illinois
54. Buffalo  - Brandon Aiyuk [ WR ] Arizona State
55. Atlanta (From New England) - Jonathan Taylor [ RB ] Wisconsin
56. Miami (From New Orleans) - Jonah Jackson [ IOL ] Ohio State
57. Houston  - Marlon Davidson [ IDL ] Auburn
58. Minnesota  - Neville Gallimore [ IDL ] Oklahoma
59. Seattle  - Tyler Biadasz [ IOL ] Wisconsin

Am i missing something here where is Chassion at?  He would be much better pick at 16 for us than Diggs would be.  Diggs is a reach there and would be a better choice in the late 1st or mid 2nd round.  Chassion fills a MASSIVE HOLE at SLB where we don't even have one now with Cambpell gone.  Like im not even sure we have a backup there we have zero SLB on the roster and atleast we have 3 talented young CB's and a solid Blidi-Wreh who did well for us last year.   Plus Chassion is much better value there than Diggs is.  We can get a player comparable to Diggs in the 2nd round or heck even looking at CB in the 3rd or 4th is fine as we are only really needing a #3 or 4 CB right now with Oliver and Sheffield starting.   I say go  16 - Chassion - SLB/Edge rusher   2nd  - Madubuike - DT  3rd - Best RB or CB available  4th best CB or RB available.

Heck i just looked after posting this and it's even worse than i thought we only have 2 LB's on the entire dang roster O.o  We have  Deion Jones at MLB and Foye Oluyakon at WLB.  Thats our 2 starters we have 0 players behind them and not 1 SLB on the entire roster.    Chassion is almost mandatory now at this point in the 1st if there lol.  We need to get some depth from FA as well and maybe 1 later in the draft too.  My god i didn't know it was that bad at LB for us.

I like Tennessee trading out of the first.  If twitter follows mean anything and they sign Clowney, they're gonna have depth problems at a lot of positions, and they're missing a fourth already, so trading down to acquire more day 2 picks would be ideal.

Barf for the Packers. No way are they giving up all that for a player I may not even take at 30...ILB is a 3-4th round pick, never a 1st round pick in this D.

Ruiz is strictly a C, he isn’t an OG at the next level. Plus he’s like the 4-5th best interior OL in the draft, major reach.

Isn’t this supposed to be Tennessee’s pick?

I'm not sure, I used Goldfish mock to make my point with the Pats trading down.  Goldfish puts up mocks in the draft forum they are pretty good mocks.  You might be right.

49ers - they have the chance to pick the best WR in this class, and choose not to... why?

And you know Buckner played the 3t tackle position, right?

Epenesa would be an End in this Wide-9 system - where Armstead, Bosa and Ford should be enough.

1a. WR Jeudy
1b. DT Ross Blacklock

IMHO
