this is great news. Luckily there are other ways to incentivize/force people to vaccinate to participate in society. Some people unfortunately need that extra "encouragement".

Yep. Strip away personal choice. Another step toward your dream socialistic/communistic society.

I contribute my taxes to public roads and public education as well. So what’s your point?

I contribute to public health everyday by providing a service to the community.

yes. taxes are forced. Otherwise nobody would pay for things that don't immediately benefit them lol

(kinda like you and this vaccine)

As others have mentioned, vaccinations, today, cannot be "forced" like taxes. So people have to come to the conclusion that, even if it doesn't immediately benefit them, it benefits society as a whole and therefore is the right decision (for those with no underlying risk factors). Sadly, some people don't come to that conclusion. But luckily there are ways to "encourage" people to vaccinate to participate in society.

you have the choice not to vaccinate! You just can't mingle with the rest of us then.

Still a choice.

We get to choose to exclude you from being around us because you're unsafe.

Seems like a great can of worms to open up. If I’m not mistaken, I believe our founding fathers had a similar issue of personal freedoms with England...

ah yes, i forgot the "any landowner infected with ringworm MUST BE allowed to shake hands with any other landowner to secure the sale" law that everyone groaned about in England lol

Man... you’re a hard individual to have a serious conversation with.

oh, your comment was serious?

comparing religious choice to public health was a real and serious attempt?

More so government imposing restrictions and restricting personal freedoms.

the thing is, I would agree with you if this virus was deadlier than it is. But..: it’s not

it's not deadlier than it is exactly because people unlike you have eschewed "personal freedoms" for the good of society...

without people foregoing "personal freedoms" millions more people would have died. It's just unfathomable to me how someone can see 1.5 million global deaths (and 10s of millions prevented by conscientious civilians) and say "nahh, I'm good - obviously this thing isn't deadly". If everyone had your attitude about covid we'd be in a literal apocalypse right now.

I would imagine that some employers will make a condition of employment.  This, afaik, doesn't violate any laws.

I don’t think we’ve done anything to stop what would have happened regardless. I don’t believe masks work to the point that naive people think they do. Do they help some, sure I guess, until they go touch a door handle then eat a cheeseburger.

Like I said before. I am not anti-vax.

I am anti this vaccine, due to how quickly its come out, it being new technology which has never been approved before (and technically still hasn’t been approved, only in an emergency setting because there are no other options yet). I encourage all affected demographics to get the vaccine if they feel it is necessary.

that being said, I wish you well sir and hope you have a good night

Oh I’m absolutely positive that’s going to happen.
Now imagine how divided we are right now politically as a society with a move like that..:

The future of this country is extremely unsettling at the moment.

Eh, this doesn't bother me.  But i've seen some of the firsthand results of careless people around the vulnerable, so i'm personally convicted that this needs to be widely distributed.

Put it this way - 1.6M dead globally.  It's just...wow.
