Michael Thomas's ADOT is 9.7 Jarvis Landry's ADOT is 11.5 Julio Jones' ADOT is 14.2 And Landry is a true possession receiver. Michael Thomas is a slant-route king. A stick route wonder. But he's not someone who blows the top off of a defense. He's not someone who really does anything different than Plaxico Burress did. But I can at least remember times Burress went deep. Also, it's not too crazy to think the guy with: The most yards since the start of the 2014 season by over 1500 to the #2. The most catches since the start of the 2014 season by 43 to the #2 and the 6th most TDs in the NFL that same span is the best WR in the league. He also is 7th in yards per catch over that same time period. And he's 1st in yards per game by 15 yards over Michael Thomas while averaging 3.7 yards more per catrch. childofpudding
You named all your WR1s but didn't actually define it. What is a WR1, in your opinion? Edited March 25, 2020 by childofpudding

Hardly seems fair to use 2014 as your arbitrary cutoff when Michael Thomas didnt even hit the league until 2016. I understand why you did it though, had to squeeze in Julios best season. Michael Thomas: Yards - 5,512 Receptions - 470 TDs - 32 YPR - 11.7 YPG - 87.5 Julio Jones: Yards - 5,564 Receptions - 383 TDs - 23 YPR - 14.5 YPG - 91.2 Julio is amazing but writing off Michael Thomas as a "#2 possession WR" is laughable.
renndawg37
I'm willing to bet AJ Brown will be considered a #1 vey, very soon.

Yards per reception matters. TDs are more of a function of the offense than anything else. Glorified possession receivers only average 11 yards per catch. Best WR in the league averages over 14. Michael Thomas has had 74 20+ yard catches in his career. Julio Jones has had 95 the last 4 years alone. Michael Thomas has 7 40+ yard catches in his career. Julio Jones has had 14 40+ yard catches the last 4 years alone. Michael Thomas is a short-intermediate receiver who doesn't stretch defenses. He's a possession receiver. Julio Jones is the best receiver in the NFL. The closest receiver to Julio recently was Antonio Brown. 91 20+yard catches and 24 40+ yard catches his last 4 years (not including 2019, but 2015-2018). He's closer to the all-around receiver Julio is. Julio is like a mix of Michael Thomas' pure possession receiver and Antonio Brown's deep threat. AKA, that's why he's the best WR in the NFL. candyman93
Nice effort with the list. I’d put Jarvis as a upper tier 2. However, I get it. He’s a slot WR.
