Travis Frederick retires at 29

Recommended Posts

This is a surprise and it’s good he didn’t wait as there is still a lot of FA time and the draft to go

Frederick, Sua Filo, and Fleming gone.  An All Pro center and two primary backups gone.  Things happen that are beyond your control.  We've just been thrown a big curve. OL climbing in importance.

Man, this stings. Good wasn't good enough and I have nothing but respect for that kind of a decision. Wish him well.

FWIW.......

No way, we still have Joe and McGovern. Safety and CB are huge needs.

Bro this aint a Guard or Safety spot. This is the Center position. It takes priority.

At this level>? Remains to be seen. I would love it if he could and play at a high level.

Well **** I hope we were looking at Centers cause this just went to neck and neck with DE. Fred and his knowledge with gameplay transformed our line more then anyone.

We did resign Looney, and thank goodness. We know we can last without Frederick because we have done it before. The last time we went to the playoffs was with Looney.

Still, I am sad. Just trying to ease the pain

Well, that remains to be seen. I imagine they'll have him and Looney battle it out.

Fred at his best elevated this line to historic highs. We were crazy great up front not just because of his game but more so because of his game knowledge. He was a rare breed.

Yea well here's hoping our coaches become completely enamored with one.

Let them compete.  Its a horrible way to get it, but McGovern has a great opportunity here.
