But for real, how did Jonah Jackson last this long??????? Some incredibly inferior OG's went off the board much earlier. I think Jonah is a late 2nd to early 3rd prospect easily

Good pass protector and on the backside on IZ - if that's what you're looking for, he's a solid pick.  Love his demeanor, but not necessarily a fit for us.

Definitely huge value there.  But more of a finesse type.  We like our maulers in the Burgh.

He is someone we have been discussing for a while now but really don't think he fits in our scheme. Most of the O-line picks so far before him have been teams running outside zone and thats why guys like Hennessey get pushed up and guys like Lewis and Jackson drop.

Hennessey was a huge steal too

Summary of our FFMD so far (since we don't have another pick for a while).

Pittsburgh Steelers

Trades:

DET Receives: 49, 198

PIT Receives: 67, 109, 112, 183

------

SEA Receives: 67, 135

PIT Receives: 59

1.18 - Minkah Fitzpatrick, S Alabama
2.59 - Cam Akers RB, Florida State
3.102 - K’Von Wallace S, Clemson
4.109 - Donavon Peoples-Jones WR, Michigan
4.112 - Solomon Kindley OG, Georgia

4.124 - Alex Highsmith, EDGE, Charlotte
6.183 -
7.233 -

I am ecstatic with this haul so far, especially considering how many picks we had to start the draft with. That maneuvering with Detroit and Seattle early on in the draft is looking like an incredible move so far.

We wisely maneuvered to get a guy we were all high on in Akers who will have an immediate impact in year 1. It's hard to find a player capable of doing that at the bottom of the 2nd round. We got a guy with Kareem Hunt/Aaron Jones potential. He will split with Conner in 2020 and most likely become our lead back in 2021 after Conner leaves as a free agent.

Wallace is going to be extremely valuable right away as a special teams player and part-time chess-piece on defense. Having guys like K'Von Wallace, Devin Bush and Minkah Fitzpatrick controlling the middle of the field will make our defense even more deadly.  He is a great locker room/leadership guy and comes from a winning culture as well.

DPJ is a 2nd round level talent and probably goes much higher in any other draft that isn't so saturated with great receiver prospects. He will be another weapon for Ben and could even help on punt returns and special teams year 1. Steelers now have JuJu, Dionte Johnson, James Washington, Deon Cain, DPJ, Eric Ebron, and Vance McDonald for Ben to throw to.

Kindley is a favorite prospect of mine. He is massive but nimble and plays with a nasty mean streak. He has potential to be a future starter or top backup at both guard spots at the worst.

Highsmith is a project that has a skill you just can't teach, he is athletic as hell. He can start off as a situational pass rusher and hopefully add some weight and strength to become our top edge backup or potential to take over for Bud Dupree if we can't retain him next off-season.

Not to mention all of these prospects fit the Steelers mold of what they look for. P5 schools, underclassmen, high character, leaders etc.

The Cleveland Browns are looking to trade down from #157 (the 11th Pick in the 5th Round acquired from the Atlanta Falcons) for at least two other lower non-7th round picks ideally one being a lower 5th and maybe the other being a quality 6th if not another lower/compensatory 5th.

We're open to hearing offers and ideas.

Great job, Fitzpatrick was a bit of a reach.

If Hennessey was there at 78 and Dantzler wasn’t, he wouldn’t have been there at 79. Also, my GM really liked the idea of Dantzler and we needed a corner. But had those two things happened, we were going Hennessey.

Scheme fit for us. We felt like he's a much better fit in a man-blocking, north-south power run style offense rather than a wide zone based system like ours.
