Saints restructure Janoris Jenkins

They turned $9m of his base salary into a signing bonus spread over 3 years. It’s still a 1-year deal but we are taking $3m hits next year and the year after in order to save $6m right now.

Saints aren’t done making moves if they’re freeing up $6m, IMO

DE Everson Griffen?

Imagine a DE rotation of Jordan/Davenport/Griffen. Griffen can also slide inside on passing downs (as Peat and Warford saw) and cause havoc from there. With Davenport's and Rankins injury history, top quality depth could be essential.

Griffen will likely cost more than $6 mil a season.

We have more than $6m for this year.

This move cleared up $6m on its own, we’re sitting on about $12m right now.

I'd imagine we have some more salary cap fat we could trim off the roster if needed as well, can't remember how much money we need to allocate towards the draft, but it seems we have enough room to add 1 or 2 more quality players in free agency if we are truly going to go all out for this last Super Bowl run with Brees.
