Packers sign Devin Funchess

So with the signing of Funchess, I decided to take a little time out to watch Funchess, Lazard and EQ (2018), just to kind of get a feel for what we've got in the "giant *** receiver" category.  Having done so, I gotta say, we're definitely all sleeping on EQ.  I didn't fully appreciate just what a freak that man is until I watched Funchess and Lazard.  I know EQ probably played 2018 around 215 rather than the 225 Lazard played at or the 235 Funchess plays at, but even with that in mind it's crazy just how much of a cut above he is athletically compared to those two.  EQ's ability to bend and accelerate for a 6'5" receiver is straight ridiculous.  There's nothing that man can't run on the entire tree, he didn't drop a single pass in 2018, and he can still do things like this:

and this

That's a special athlete, and he plays with attitude.  Almost killed that poor Dolphins DB on what I still maintain was a legal block that was badly called because, well, look at it:

If you're looking for a guy to help rescue this offense in 2020, it's gotta be EQ.  He's got experience with Aaron, he's got experience with the playbook that Funchess doesn't have, and frankly he's a 1st round talent that's just sitting in the cupboard, waiting.  I'm fully on this hype train, choo choo boys.

Not everybody. I'm as hopeful as I was coming into 2019. Good post.

"We value E.Q. quite a bit," Gutekunst said. "We think he's got a really bright future with us. He had some pretty serious injuries that we felt needed time. No regrets about that at all (about putting him on IR)."

Davante/ESB/Funchess could be a damn nice trio, actually.
