Re-sign

K Greg Zuerlein

QB Blake Bortles

Free Agency

OLB Everson Griffin

The Rams grab one of the best pass rushers out there on a very reasonable 2 to 3 year deal. Griffin has kind of been an forgotten man in free agency. So the Rams strike before the Viking try and resign him. The Rams defense took a big hit on veteran talent and Leadership. With our new Defensive Coordinator going mostly young, this is a very productive proven edge rusher that we need.

Trades

Rams trade: Round 2 Pick #20 (52)

Detroit trade: Round 3 Pick #3 (67), Round 4 #3 (109) and Round 6 Pick #3  (182)

The Detroit need playmakers in a bad way so they decide to jump back into the 2nd to grab their guy. With the lack of draft capitol and lack of free agency money. Along with grabbing a pair of edge rushers in free agency. They decided to jump back in the draft in order to accumulate more picks. We know Les Snead and team loves to trade, so we do just 1 draft trade this year.

Draft

3. (3) Jordyn Brooks-ILB, Texas Tech

The Rams utilize this trade pick in order to grab a nice replacement for Littleton in the middle. Jordyn is a fast and dangerous linebacker with excellent sideline to sideline speed for the Texas Tech. He is a strong tackler and has really good awareness with a great motor. Brooks will be a tackling specialist for the Rams as a Day 1 Starter in the middle. Brooks will be able to not be so pressured up the middle as every team will have to focus on Aaron Donald first, then have Griffin and Floyd also coming off the edge also.

3. (20) Tyler Biadasz-C, Wisconsin

The Rams decided it's time to invest in building a strong interior online. The Rams Front Office is celebrating as the best center in the draft falls to us in the 3rd. Tyler had an very strong season and career for the Badgers. Biadasz has a strong anchor to handle bull rushes and the strength to sustain his blocks into the whistle blows. Tyler was also strong in pass pro as well as made a living blasting open big holes for the running backs. This is another big hole filled for the Rams as Tyler is a Day 1 Starter.

3.(40) Akeem Davis-Gaither-ILB, Appalachian State

This is another kid that I really like as a possible draft gem and steal. Akeem made sure his presence in the middle was felt for App State. Another athlete with a explosive speed to get in the back field or cover tight ends. He is a strong hard hitting linebacker that also plays with a nasty streak. I love how he gets off the blocks and just recks plays even with him being undersized at 6'1.

4. (3) A.J. Dillon-RB, Boston College

This is just one of those Best Player Available picks that the Rams just can't past up on. A.J. is a very explosive back that should be going a couple rounds earlier if this wasn't such a strong running back draft. A.J. is an elusive power back with some nice blend of speed. Dillon can come in as a rotating back and receiver giving the Rams 2 talented options behind Henderson.

4.(20) K'Vonn Wallace-S, Clemson

The Rams and New Defensive Coordinator Brandon Staley is very happy about this pick up. K'Vonn is an absolute baller that will give us very nice talent for Staley's defensive packages. Wallace is very explosive with great speed, as well as a very solid leader and hard hitting playmaking safety in college. Wallace will come right in and fill the Marqui Christian role in our defense. Giving us some great depth with John Johnson coming back, with the ability to slide right in to one of the starting spots if a injury occurs. K'Vonn will also be a nice addition as a special teamer.

6. (3) Jon Runyan Jr.-OT, Michigan

The Rams are very serious about protecting there future. Jon has had to play and follow in his father's footsteps. Jon has played well at the left tackle position for the most part. He has some quick feet and balance, good strength and Awareness also. He would come in and learn behind Whitworth. Runyan gives us a possible chess peice and option to rotate or start at gaurd/right tackle for this year.

6 (20) Kindle Vildor-CB, Georgia Southern

This is another one of the Rams grabbing the beast available talent left on the board. Kindle in no way once so ever should he be going this late in the draft with the talent and covering abilities that this kid has. Only available here because of how deep this draft is of defensive talent this year. Vildor is a very fast corner with has really good awareness and good recovery speed. His true position is on the outside, but he is versatile enough to play the slot also. Gives us more depth in the backfield as well as another special teams specialist.

7 (20)  Khalil Tate-QB, Arizona

The Rams decide to grab the explosive running QB in Khalil. Khalil does have a strong arm with some solid Awareness. Tate is extremely fast and elusive with the ball in his hands. McVay takes him here to try and develop his accuracy and field pocket vision. Tate will give us a great scout team look as we prepare to play the Cardinals and Seattle twice a year. Can be groomed as a possible back up of the future.

Like the idea of grabbing Khalil Tate for the scout team. This draft may be a tough unrealistic, but I like all the guys you grabbed.

Thanks for the response man, I like Tate also for us. Where do you feel this draft is unrealistic at? Because pretty much everyone that I selected have draft grades of some where around where they might actually go. Example our 3 3rd rounders are all projected lately any where from mid/late 2nd to late 3rd round. With most mocks having all three in the 3rd now for most of them.

Interesting mock. A lot I like, but I don't think A.J. Dillon fits this offense.

Appreciate it jrry32, yeah man with this one I wanted to switch it up a little with some different options than I've selected in the past. I could of put Zach Moss at that spot, but wanted to give another option. I really like Cam Ackers but I don't see no way he drops to the low 3rd round. Now A.J. kind of remind me of Marshawn Lynch the way he plays and runs. I think he could be an excellent change of pace back for us possibly.

The question though is does McVay want a change of pace back or 3 backs who when they come in can do the same things? I personally think the latter but we'll see.

I just think a few of the guys may get pushed up because of the combine. Biadasz I could see not being available, Dillon may not be there at that point anymore. It's more so because it's a lot of prospects I like and they always seem to get talen before I think they will, but like I said I would really like this.

Everson Griffen would be a good get and may allow us to play some 4-3 to mix things up as well.

Hey NVRamsFan, yes that is a totally good question. The way this offseason is going I'm not really sure what McVay is really looking for. I could see the latter option as a possiblity also.

Yes that I'm in Complete agreement on, every year there are players that we all like that get drafted early. I could totally see alot of these prospects going early like Biadasz in the 2nd or Dillon in the early 3rd. But we just never know. I was thinking of putting Zach Moss in place of Dillon orginally. But alot of mock have him possibly going late 2nd to mid 3rd now. Everyone in the 2nd to 4th round is all over the place, lol.

Yes I would try and do a back flip if we signed Everson Griffin. But with the news of Brokers signing. That option and door might be closed now. I have no idea what or if who can sign now based on the cap space. Man Greg really sucks also, that's another hole the we have to fill now unfortunately.

Arizona alum, former manager and Tate acquaintance. Khalil Tate is the second most freak athlete I've seen, in person, in my life (kid by the name Daryn Alves in Texas/OK HS was first. Ruined his opportunity, different story for different time). But the kid is really really set on being a QB. Like really really set. First year with Sumlin, he would not run. We all assumed it was Mazzone. But coming off the field he would yell "quarterback's pass" to the fans. I really hope he can look in the mirror and realized he can be Taysom Hill, but better.
