naptownskinsfan
So help me understand how one guy can turn around recruiting in just a couple months? This is nuts.
PARROTHEAD
LSU has 4 recruits. Rutgers has 9. Though its a good 9. 7 of them are from NJ. NJ puts out as much 3+* talent as states like VA, SC, Michigan and Illinois. Not top 5. But top 15 state in talent production. He keeps them home theres no reason he shouldnt do well. And the kids know they can likely start a lot earlier than if they went elsewhere. The competition isnt much to be concerned about.

candyman93
Jersey has a LOT of talent in that state. If Schiano keeps those kids in state, Rutgers will be respectable. https://247sports.com/Season/2021-Football/CompositeRecruitRankings/?InstitutionGroup=Highschool&State=NJ

Look at how well the Virginia schools did with their wealth of instate talent for 2020. Just 3 of the top 30. TCU took more top 20 talent from the state than both UVA and VT garnered combined. Schiano is doing it right in locking NJ down. https://247sports.com/Season/2020-Football/CompositeRecruitRankings/?InstitutionGroup=Highschool&State=VA
candyman93
I predict Michigan State is going to become awful this decade and Rutgers will fill their spot.

This is nuts. greg schiano knows how to recruit the NJ area. has a solid track record as a HC to present, where previous guys were usually 1st time HC, and history of the program on his side

Lefty
I remember when Rutgers upset WVU on a Thursday night game before the Big East imploded. WVU was ranked #1. Good times Keeping the talent at home will make the program more respectable but they play in a tough division. I can’t see them ever being more than 3rd or 4th best.

A move to the ACC or AAC would make sense from a competition perspective. Not sure if they would lose financially on the ACC or not, but definitely the AAC.
