I thought we had 9 picks going into the draft.

This has been a nice draft. Excellent maneuvering up and down the draft board. I would not be upset if this happened IRL.

Just something for shoots and giggles. If we had stayed put after chargers trade and with the players left on the board. I wonder who everyone would have wanted to select with our second round picks.

Mine would have been Cesar Ruiz and Ross Blacklock

Yeah, definitely. And it'll be interesting to see who we could've come away with at #67 and with those two early 4th round picks.

I guess, in terms of quality over quantity, this is the quality mock. Not sure if that actually makes it a better one, but it's intriguing nonetheless.

Sorry for not being around much today.  I dont love the move up but am ok with it.  I really wanted to add a WR but I think there is plenty of talent left that I think would have fallen.  Maybe even Ayiuk himself.  I dont hate it though, as it was definitely a need.

As far as the Taco deal goes, I would be for it.  Giving a 5th for three picks and adding depth to our DE unit would be great.  I know he hasnt done much, but again, thats the type of player I like to target with trades.  Guys who dont really fit or arent utilized right that we can find a role for.

Yep, absolutely true. (All: if I'm spamming your messages, I'm just trying to make sure that everyone who can have a say gets to put their vote out there. Obviously, real life stuff is far more important.)

Current tally for Mr. Tacos: 1 'yea', 3 'nay'. (I may be leaning towards the 'yea' at this point... more picks and adds a possible contributor to a position of need.)

Heading to bed, but I'll be up early with the little one. Our next pick is Tuesday at 3:20 P.M.

Looks like the final pick of Monday night is 76. I don’t know that we really have the means to trade up much higher than that without giving up future picks.  We just need a target board to discuss tomorrow and then see who’s left at the end of the day.  I don’t think it’s any secret what are biggest need is at this point but we still need a small list of guys who could be overwhelming bpa if there’s a run.

Sorry, was at work tonight.

I vote yay on the Taco deal. I am for adding depth to our DL and adding picks is a plus.

I was indifferent on the move up. I don’t think WR is as big a need to move picks as others seem to.

I haven’t been able to keep up with the rest of the draft, if we could get an updated prospect list, that would be helpful. I PMed TL about a guy I like that I couldn’t believe wasn’t  on our first list.

Love the feedback. I'll be sure to make and disseminate that updated prospect list today.

Current tally on Mr. Tacos: 3 'yea' (Sllim, Louis, TL), 3 'nay' (Arkie, BigC, Lionized). I like the thought of adding picks to our arsenal, even if they're 7th rounders. It'll give us a chance to dig deep and try to find some sleepers.

Detroit Lions receive: Picks #186 (15.8), #228 (1), #252 (1) and Mr. Tacos

Miami Dolphins receive: Pick #149 (30.6)

Looking for another vote to break this tie. @davisblack. @Karnage84

Looks we get killed on the draft chart.  Taco doesn’t make up more than a point or 2 I think we need to get more and frankly our 5th shouldn’t even be an option for this deal, we’d be getting killed on this deal

I see it. If it was just a 5th for Mr. Tacos, I think I should be escorted from the building. It's 6th round value for an upside guy that can compete with everything else we have at DE, and, if there's a chance for him to have success, you'd think it would be on a line next to Kinlaw-Shelton-Flowers. I do understand the hesitation, though.

In the scheme of things, the bust rate for players taken in rounds 5-7 is high. Ridiculously high. Instead of just drafting one player in the 5th round, we move down to the 6th round, add two 7th round picks and a player that we know has some sort of upside, even if his career thus far has been a massive disappointment. I like those 7th round picks for this exercise: there are always UDFAs that have success in the NFL, and I'd like to see if we can't snipe a few. (After taking 13's position with #85, we're really in a spot where we can just add as much depth as possible.)

If we're playing darts, give me a dart one round lower and two later darts to play with.

Just my take.

Sorry fellas, real life got in the way.

I think this is a really interesting experiment and it's easy to look at things in hindsight.

I think that you've done a tremendous job @TL-TwoWinsAway

I do wonder how I would really feel if we left the draft with Okudah, Kinlaw and Aiyuk with these kinds of moves. We're missing out on a combination of two of these guys like T. Lewis, Blacklock, Ruiz, Gallimore, J. Chinn, J. Taylor and K. Dugger.

Okudah and Kinlaw or Okudah, Ruiz, Gallimore or Okudah, Ruiz, J. Chinn, etc.

What I do think puts this over the top is that Kinlaw has NT size but offers a lot as a pass rusher. He could be that keystone player that really opens up the defensive line and allows it to thrive.

Thanks! Everyone who has participated has done a great job.

Yeah, I'm really torn on it all as well. If we can come away with a great 13's position at #85, I think the draft might look that much better, but it's hard to ignore then number if 'very good' players we could have added over the fewer 'great' players that we did.

One thing I really like is that we were able to land a few players that our staff loved: Arkie is a huge fan of Kinlaw, even having him on his short list at #3/#6, and BigC really wanted Aiyuk. I do think that each of these pieces is a safe, upside pick, minimizing the chance that they bust (and set this team back). In addition, 13's position is one where very good players can usually be drafted in the mid rounds.

I guess we'll see how it all works out.

@Karnage84 Speaking of, and while you may be around: any opinion on the Mr. Tacos trade? We're split at 3-3, and I'd like to see if we can have some sort of decision made.

Detroit Lions receive: Picks #186 (15.8), #228 (1), #252 (1) and Taco Charlton

Miami Dolphins receive: Pick #149 (30.6)

(I didn't know this: Charlton (ankle) recorded 21 tackles (14 solo), five sacks and two forced fumbles across 10 regular-season games with the Dolphins in 2019.)

What are the rounds again on this?

The way that I'm looking at this is: Charlton went from Dallas (underachieved) and then went to a Patriots-style D where he accomplished quite a bit (overachieved?). So we have seen him have success in our scheme (a positive). Why would Miami then be so willing to get rid of him? I would need to get an understanding of what the reasoning is before I would pull the trigger.

The Miami GM has told me that he doesn't fit their scheme now.

We're swapping our 5th round pick for their 6th round pick, two 7ths and Tacos.
