Our secondary was getting blown up every single week last. year. (and many before that). We're not expecting him to be a shut down S, moreso make some plays once in a while and provide some stability back that. He runs hot and cold seemingly his whole career. He was great at times in GB but other times not so much. In Cleveland he looked deserving of a Pro Bowl selection at FS his first year but then last year I dont remember a single impactful play he made. Seems as though he is very emotional. If he is dialed in, focused and happy then he will be good. When I hear someone say that they want a player to "provide some stability back there", the image that comes to my mind is an accomplished veteran who is a true professional. One who may have some diminished physical skills, but also possesses the intelligence needed to play in almost any scheme. A guy that has "been there, done that" and can serve as a mentor to other younger plays. Absolutely none of that is Randall. In fairness to another ex-Packer safety, that is a little more of Ha Ha Clinton Dix. You didn't overpay for Randall, he has some physical skills, but he's not a leader and he's anything but "steady".
