I understand the desire to hold draft picks for the value, but also think it’s a little ridiculous to want hold on to them so much you pass up on a player like Adams. Yeah, he’s going to be expensive, but he’s young and you already know you’re getting a proven All-Pro caliber player.

Same could be said about Byron Jones and we let him walk.

In order to be great you need great players.  Adams is a game changer.   If the Jets are willing to trade him start negotiating.

So that's 1 maybe.

You complained about us not doing something, in the present tense, because we are too worried about our “oh so precious comp picks”.

Well, yeah, the picks matter. We have some valuable ones in the future. And one of them in our past landed us our franchise quarterback.

So the point, SweetFancyMoses, is that yes, comp picks do matter. And any move you make that impacts that formula should be made with that in mind.

I still have faith that after draft weekend we can pick up another CB/DE if we need. That will allow us to have probably 3 good comp picks and ~5ish total. Imagine what we could do next year with ~12+ draft picks!

I agree. But just FYI, NFL teams max out at 4 comp picks unless this rule recently changed.

1 out of 25 comp picks have been a good player, and you guys act like no biggie losing Quinn, we got that sweet 4th rounder, that's really a 5th , coming to us.
