Ravens Pick at 28

What I see as a Ravens' move with this board is taking Austin Jackson. He's a more valuable asset AND they can use him right away by sliding him in at guard right away, which is the biggest need on the team. We don't have tackle depth behind Stanley and Brown, either, and the team wouldn't want to be a bad spot if they can't resign both down the line when they hit UFA in back to back year.

^ This is what I'd bet the FO does with that board (and no trade back option). Decosta is all about value.

Poll will probably end up Murray though, because it makes the starting lineup more impressive looking.

Yep. This is a pretty sub-par class for "pure" guards too so if they want offensive line help early it's probably going to come in the form of a convert - tackle to guard or center to guard. If any of the top offensive tackles are there I think that's the pick, regardless of who it is (unless medicals come into play). Baltimore could be one of the teams high on Isiah Wilson at the end of the first too.

Tend to not be a fan with this particular take. Only because having looked over Jackson’s tape I don’t find him particularly stout at the POA, very fluid athlete, but if he’s converting to guard I would see more ZBS type efficiency vs our power gap scheme. Feel like a specialist inside would provide superior play within our scheme. Either that or targeting another similar OT/OG concert with more sand in his pants would be a more effective version of this strategy. Ben Bartch seems more impressive in that aspect based off of what I saw of his senior bowl opportunities.

Remember, though, that we run our power scheme right-handed. LG does A LOT of pulling, so having a good athlete who can move well and get into the second level and envelope potential tacklers with length has some advantages over a big mauler type. I personally think what you're describing fits more of the traits we're looking for in our RG.

How much of this is due to Bradley Bozeman being a weaker spot however? What’s more Bozeman was at least pretty solid at the POA in college, I’ll have to rewatch him but I didn’t feel Jackson had the kind of strength nor leverage command to play inside at all. He’s not a KO or a Yanda type. He looks like a pure OT option. His contact balance also isn’t a strength at this point so I wouldn’t necessarily want to see him pulling as much. But perhaps I’ll think differently with another more extensive analysis of his games.
