ERGO, by your logic, all six teams offensive lines ; Rams, Cardinals, 49ers, Panthers, Eagles, and Packers were given preferential treatment. But I'm guessing you'll chalk that up to talent and execution in avoiding holding right? Fits the narrative better. Doesn't quite jive with the previous logic, but whatever floats your boat! SkippyX
Russell Wilson is vastly underrated and underpaid. Nobody does more behind a worse O-line. Roethlisberger won a Super Bowl in 2008 with an atrocious line, but that was just 3 or 4 years of bad pass blocking line play. That Eagles game in 2008 felt like some Reggie White, Clyde Simmons, and Jerome Brown level Old Testament style beating. Phil Simms may be the toughest man alive. (They got him 58 times in 21 starts) Aikman had it worse in 89-90 but Simms got it for years on end. Wilson has had to run for his life for pretty much his entire career. When I think of a Russell Wilson sack I imagine a play where he drops back and no one is open, then he rolls right to avoid close to instant pressure and no one is open and then he takes off and gets tackled for a loss of 1. Many other QBs would stand there and get nailed for a sack fumble and people would just blame the O-line. Not only is he sacked between 40-50 times every season (led the league at getting sacked 48 times last year) but he also went down 44 times in his 15 games in the playoffs. The Seahawks were 20th in least sacks allowed in both of their Super Bowl years. They were tied at 23rd with the Bengals this season.' Wilson went down 103 times total in 38 games for back to back Super Bowl teams. The Chiefs of 18-19 were comparable in success to those 13-14 Seahawks (no thanks to Dee Ford) They were 5th and 4th in sacks allowed the last 2 years. Brady's 9 SB teams averaged about 29 sacks allowed a year. The 2018 Rams gave up 33 The 2019 49ers gave up 36 Wilson only has 173 more sacks to go to tie Favre's record of being sacked 525 times. Wilson will be 32 around Thanksgiving. Favre played until he was 42. Wilson may catch him at age 36 He already leads Favre in playoff sacks at 44 to 36 Brady has the record at 66 if you are counting (41 games though) BTW, Favre was sacked 78 times in 38 games in his back to back Super Bowl years.
