They might’ve had something had they kept Brand and drafted Chandler instead of trading Brand for Chandler and drafting Curry. They were afraid to pay Brand so trading him for a rookie pushed the next payday further down the road. I don’t think Jay Williams would’ve been anything special had he never endured the accident.
