Jerry Krause is the 2nd greatest GM in NBA history behind Jerry West. Just look at what he did:

Discovered Phil Jackson and brought on Tex Winter.

Got Scottie Pippen.

Got Dennis Rodman.

Got Bill Cartwright.

Got Horace Grant.

Who the hell comes close to that? Some might say Red Auerbach, but that was basically a Bill Russell vs the league.

Got a FRP from Phoenix for Luc Freaking Longley who was a FA at the time.  I think they drafted Artest with that pick.

Had the Bulls not been a tire fire in the early 2000’s he’d get more credit.

Reinsdorf doesn't get enough blame for destroying the franchise the minute MJ left tbh.

The romanticization of the 80s and 90s is crazy.

It's all of pop culture, the lionization of "man wasn't it fun when everybody was on cocaine all the time" is beyond exhausting and is ever increasingly used as a distracting excuse for why people are seemingly just as miserable now as then, but more aware of it, as they create a mythical interpretation of a past that never really existed so they can justify to themselves living entirely in that mythical past.

News flash, things were approximately as ****ty and as good then as they were now, 30-40 years is not a long time.

They might’ve had something had they kept Brand and drafted Chandler instead of trading Brand for Chandler and drafting Curry.  They were afraid to pay Brand so trading him for a rookie pushed the next payday further down the road.

I don’t think Jay Williams would’ve been anything special had he never endured the accident.
