Singapore

Offense (3 WR, 1 RB, 1 TE)

Wichita faces its toughest challenge yet in our running game. Le’Veon Bell will be the primary option as always, getting 70% of the snaps with Kareem Hunt unleashing his own brand of hell on the Peckers for the other 30%. Bell’s patented patience at the line combined with Hunt’s one cut and go style and the ability to break tackles forms one of the best tandems in the league if not the best. Both will be highly used on short passing plays to take advantage of the aggressive nature of the Wichita defenders. On downfield passing plays they, along with TE Jesse James, will help the OL chip the edge defenders in Vernon and Graham.

Big Ben directs our passing game against the Peckers secondary. Allen, Lockett and Fitzgerald will be our starters this week with Sanu and Williams rotating in for 4 WR formations. We will take a page from the Rogues and alternate our receivers on both the outside and in the slot, working all levels of the field. This should allow Ben to hit the open receiver and keep the chains moving. Half the league has OL woes but we believe a veteran like Big Ben, who is hard to bring down normally because of his size, will weather the Wichita pass rush today.

Defense:

Defense: 5-2

Our primary goal will be to dominate the line of scrimmage and control the game from there, as the strength of our defense is in the front 7. Hankins, Joseph and Donald will again form the interior DL with Hunter and Griffen on the edges. Joseph should have a particularly good week with Kalil out again. Howard should be overmatched as well. Greg Olsen going down for the year removes a big security blanket for Goff. Watson/Brate will be needed to block the onslaught we intend to bring today.

Our front seven is built to stop the Wichita run game. Fournette is one of the better rookie RB’s this season but our guys practice against excellence every day.  The pursuit speed of our LB’s allows them to fill any gaps and keep the play in front to limit yards after contact.

Outside in man coverage, Dre Kirkpatrick and Trae Waynes will jam Bryant and Stills at the line for the first five yards to take precious seconds away from Goff. Shaq Thompson will cover Decker underneath or switch to double Bryant in nickel formations as we bring in PFF’s #1 rated CB Quandre Diggs to man the slot. Harmon and Davis get the start this week with Harmon in a cover 1 over the top and Davis patrolling the box to limit mid range passing options.  We will also occasionally drop Hunter or Griffen back into a zone to try to catch Goff trying to dump the ball off short.

Wichita

Offense:

Let me just say… Singapore’s secondary is absolute trash. Maye, Mills, Kirkpatrick, Davis (and potentially Waynes slotted into the starting defense with three wide sets… is probably the worst group in the secondary in the league. So this week we plan on Air Coryelling Singapore’s *** with Jared Goff. We will have Watson and Fournette provide some extra chip blocks coming off the edge of the defense and Goff will let it fly to twin towers Bryant and Parker, while Stills streaks down the field for deep passes to burn Singapore’s terrible safety duo. Fournette and Watson will from time to time come off the back end of the defense and screen out to add to some confusion in the secondary, while Forte will come in on third downs and test how disciplined Singapore’s linebacking core is.

We also will give Fournette his touches on the ground as we shore up our offensive line and slide mammoth OG Osemele back to the inside. We will pound the ball inside and out, keeping Singapore’s defense on it’s toes and using the TE as an extra run blocker. We will also flash some 2 TE with Brate in the endzone and 4 WR wides with Decker to throw the kitchen sink at Singapore’s porous secondary.

Defense:

Big Ben’s blindside is in shambles. No Glenn, and Flowers is getting beaten more than Rhianna did with Chris Brown. Brandon Graham will line up against Flowers and truck Ben play after play hitting home on the unaware QB. On the otherside Vernon will harass Cannon and will be chasing Ben around as well. Ben will constantly be running for his life in this game as his o-line fails him against Wichita’s relentless pass rush.

While the d-line chases Ben around, we will be playing man coverage on his receivers. Losing Davis this past week is a huge loss as it brings in fellow rookie Zay Jones or trick player Tyler Lockett into more of the spotlight. Melvin and Worley will be out wide against Allen and Fitzgerald. Poole will lock down the slot as usual keeping whichever of Jones/Lockett in check. Kuech will lineup on James, while the rest of the backline defenders work on laying the wood on Le’Veon Bell with situational blitzers coming from Lee/Smith/Parker.

With Singapore’s o-line in shambles, and their interior outside of Hudson being inept at the run, we do not see Bell making a lot of head way on the ground this game as our defense is solid statistically against the run, especially against the safety and linebacking duo. We expect Singapore to use Bell as protection or a safety valve underneath, as Bell will be steam rolled otherwise.

Singapore will have to start Flowers as Cannon is out and Stephenson isn't playing as of right now. Hopefully they can work around those Tackle matchups.

Eesh. The tackle situation keeps getting worse and worse.

Poor Flowers....

"They can’t afford to keep putting Ereck Flowers at left tackle. This could fracture the team. He simply isn’t a starting-caliber left tackle, even if the Giants hid their porous offensive line most of Sunday by getting the ball out of Eli Manning's hand at lightning speed.

Manning released the ball on average in 1.86 seconds, per Pro Football Focus. That was .39 seconds faster than any other quarterback in Week 3.

But even that didn’t totally cover Flowers' flaws. Two of the biggest plays in the loss was because of Flowers' ineffectiveness.

Flowers was dominated on a fourth-and-goal run late in the first half where Orleans Darkwa was tackled behind the line of scrimmage. Flowers then clotheslined and tackled Eagles defensive end Vinny Curry with under a minute left and the Giants trying to march for the winning score. That led to an eventual punt and the game-winning field goal for the Eagles.

McAdoo is going to have a hard time looking his players in the face if he keeps sending Flowers out as the left tackle. Flowers knows he has played poorly. It’s not fair to everyone involved, including Flowers, to continue putting him in this position."

Big Ben doesn't have the quick release Manning has. He may be hard to bring down, but I just can't see Singapore moving the ball at all in this one due to their tackles issues. Wichita has a tough matchup against an intimidating Singapore front 5, and I don't think Goff is well equipped to deal with that pressure either, so it won't be a blowout, but in the end, I think Wichita will have the ball too many times to not score. Wichita gets the win, 17-6

Thus why I put him at RT his natural position and coincidentally the side you put Graham on. Also have my TE only blocking to help out Levitre who played both OT spots in college.

Parnell and Howard are not BDL worthy starting OT's. It's actually quite sad that you literally have 20 spots dedicated to your OL but can't field a quality starting unit.

I'm pretty much suffering the same injury deal as Green Bay and they seem to be able to get by with replacement level OT's.
