Brown has natural hands and top end tracking ability, while Boykin(despite his struggles in the pros) had one of the better catch rates in CFB. On an individual pick basis there are wild swings in terms of outcomes, but 1st rounders far outperform 2nd rounders on average, who far outperform 3rd rounders on average, etc. Furthermore, it's a bit more subjective, but certain FOs have demonstrated an ability to outperform others consistently. Some teams prefer to take swings at players with high upside, while others prefer to find special teamers and specialists. Florio just comes off as a pompous prick... why pick a player in the next segment if “you don’t know”... just get off of TV/Radio since “you don’t know”. Also, that EVERYONE points to the same example (the 2012 Seattle draft) gets sort of old. It almost turns into the exception proving the rule (i.e., that it sticks out so clearly shows that it's rarely that off).
