I chose Gladney...even though I would've reached for an offensive lineman...over YGM because CB is the bigger need.

DE is a need and Gladney would be there at 25 as well. Never draft for need. Because Terrell is there as well and I wound probably take him over Gladney as well.

I initially had Terrell as an option, but then replaced him with Igbinoghene, because TDN had him ranked higher.  The various rankings on Gladney seem to be all over the board on him, but I'm going off what I've first read about him...and that he'd be a good fit in the Vikings' secondary, as his expertise is in press-man coverage.

I'm a big fan of building though the trenches. Saw that Blacklock was still available. He will have just turned 22 at the start of the season. He's a good prospect when your defense needs a 3-Tech. At much as I like the defense ends I'm taking this guy first at #22.

If you don't draft with need in mind then the need has to be addressed another way.  In 2020, it appears the front office believes there is no other way.  DE is a lower priority than offensive line and secondary.

Not so much in another way. Just a different round. With 12 picks, I hope that we are smart enough as a team to use some of those picks to trade up. I’m all for trading up in the 2nd, and 3rd round.

I hope we walk away with 5 starters in this draft. Or, at least 4 and some who can rotate as well..

In response to @Vikes22, I would clarify your statement to be that you don't "reach" for need.  You certainly have to draft for need, but you don't have to reach for need.  Reaching for need is like drafting Christian Ponder at #11.  If you don't draft for need, then you're not doing your job right.

Correct.

Given the options and with Griffen not on the team, I’m going with Gross Matos and not thinking twice. CB comes at 25 for me, hopefully one will be there.

If Griffen returns, I’m fine not taking a DE this early.

I think it's still likely that Everson comes back...as long as Clowney is still on the market, he's likely to return to Seattle, which means that Everson will return here as Everson has no other market.

I hope so, just have to make the money work and hope Clowney goes to Cleveland.

If the team thinks YGM or Epenesa can be a dynamic EDGE rusher/player they should be the pick. Heck if one of them is the pick I'd still look to bring back Griffen as well. I'd look to take a CB at 25.

Hunter/Odenigbo/YGM or Epenesa/Griffen is a nice stable of DEs.

*I voted for YGM.
