He is more than just speed... I was talking more about value. Ruggs at #12 was similar to DHB at #7... we could have drafted Ruggs at #19 easily.

Easily? Who knows what the broncos/cowboys were really thinking. Who knows if it's last year all over again and we're stuck with the pick with no trade downs.

You take your guy at the value you feel is right. The raiders did that.

How do you see Renfrow fitting in with Ruggs? Williams seems to be our only natural outside receiver atm ?

Ruggs is naturally an outside receiver. His explosiveness and contested catch ability are lethal. Corners respect his deep speed and if he can threaten vertically and cause them to flip their hips, he can torch them inside on slants. Not only that but he's going to run a lot of hitches, deep ins, crossers, and be used on jet sweeps a lot. Also look for go balls off of play action and his developing double move.

But if he’s outside how does he get the free releases that you wanted ?

Yes this is Ruggs one concern. His release game is developing and there's nothing to suggest that he can't do it. We'll put him in some bunch formations early to free him up. Hill was also not a "natural receiver"/technician coming out of college. He had to work at it. But all reports show that Ruggs is a hard worker and will work on his craft to continue to improve. He's only 20 (21 as a rookie).

If you press Ruggs and lose though, it's going to be a TD/long gain every time. Teams will play off unless they have a bonafide CB to press him.

That’s BS... if the Raiders did that, then they would have drafted either Jeudy or Lamb.. we will regret this pick for years to come.
