Why am I more nervous about today than yesterday? Like, I am getting over the initial shock/disappointment of the Love pick and can pretty much support it, but it's going to be so much easier to swallow if we come away with a WR and a solid defensive player today. I don't think I can handle any more shock and disappointment today.

yes, although I think Gutey is going to have to make some moves at free agent after the draft.

I'm likely going to be all for bringing back Matthews now to play some ILB/EDGE and a also sign a DL.

Honestly like the WR depth as well as Cole Kmet at the end of the second.

Not all the WRs will be there but there should be 1 or 2 of those guys.

Laviska Shenault Jr.

Cole Kmet

Chase Claypool

Michael Pittman Jr.

Seems like this is the pool at the end of the 2nd. With Higgins, Mims, and Hamler (speed) going off the board.

I've settled on Claypool  Love   as the Packers first pick if they don't move up.   He meets all the criteria:

[1] instantly whips the Packers fanbase into a frenzy of anger and outrage ---- the delight of all Packers GM's, it's in their contract

Well that's the main criteria, but here's some more:

2] Allows internet guy to drunkenly declare the NFL is a joke and the Packers franchise is no longer viable - it's in our forum agreement, check the fine print

I posted the above yesterday but had Claypool as the pick.   Thought I'd revise to Love as he certainly met the first two criteria.

A good day 2 draft can really help ease everyone's mind about the Love pick.

Personally I'd like to see Denzel Mims (if available) out of Baylor or Logan Wilson from Wyoming.

This would be top of my wishlist for picks 2 and 3

Liking Shenault with our pick in the second.  Mims will be gone.  And we shouldn't be trading up any more.

Let's get our WR.

Can still find a good OT a little later and an ILB.  Maybe even a corner.

WR needs to be the focus now.  Of the guys that are left....Mims, Shenault, Higgins, Claypool, Pittman.  And I like that order, and I'd be pretty darned happy with any of them.

Going OT in the second?  Third round may have a nice WR crop as well with Hamler, Edwards, DPJ, Johnson.

There are Wr's to be had yet.

Watched a bit of the WRs. I'm very intrigued by DPJ. Elite physical tools but shackled by bad, bad QB play. Offers immediate contribution as a returner as well.

Do we like him?

Yes.  Hard not to like the athlete.  Really like the upside with him.

I've just realised something. In two years Adams will be a free agent. So when/if Love is ready to take over Adams will likely not be here.

We are totally drafting a WR with our next pick. It simply has to happen to give Rodgers a WR2 but also to give Love a potential WR1 two years down the line and will have had lots of time to develop a chemistry with.

It makes too much sense.

Same questions as Gary. More of an athlete than football player ? I don't know. I'm currently jaded with the whole jump ball specialist thing that a lot of these guys are known for. Give me a Greg Jennings type, but it seems the Packers don't want that kind of guy

Just a quick questions in regards to the locked thread at the top

"Just like every year, please limit the spoilers in the draft day discussion thread.  The general rule of thumb is if the pick has been announced on TV, it's fair game to discussion.  @Packerraymond or myself will be making the Packer-specific threads, so if you have any questions PM us."

What kind of spoilers can be given away if the pick hasn't been announced? Is someone on this forum sitting with the Packers brass? @CWood21

I think every team like the Greg Jennings type. He was an elite WR. Who is Greg Jennings in this class?
