It isn’t greatest for this year, but as a long run move? It has no downside. Other than new medicals come out saying he is done.  But what are odds of that?

They would risk the entire rest of the league knowing that they absolutely HAD to unload one the quarterbacks, which would profoundly decrease the value of either. If they couldn't find a trade partner, the Lions did the right thing. They replaced Slay with a guy who will likely be even better.

The difference in this and AR back in '05 is Rodgers was considered possibly as the number one pick.  He free fell and the Packers chose him to stop the slide.  This is a reach on potential, and could backfire in the Packers face two fold

We got word that the Bears were looking to trade picks with the Seahawks. Everybody remembers that, right? Regardless of how the whole Love scenario plays out in Green Bay, Gutekunst most likely traded up ahead of the Seahawks' slot, quite possibly depriving the Bears of Love, and also quite possibly depriving Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy of their jobs. It was a brilliantly devious move by Gutekunst. If he decides to keep Rodgers around, it will be profoundly easy to trade Love for greater value.

Here is a thought.  What if Love was starting AL QB last two years?

Where does he go in draft after having played behind that O line and with those WRs and with those coaches?

My thought would be that Love is a top five pick.

The biggest problem the Bears have with QBs is that they don't take enough chances. It's the most impactful position in sports and if you land one, you're set for years. It's okay to miss on a few here and there as long as you keep trying.

Hopefully they start searching again, at some point. Company line right now is that Mitch is still the man.

Tunsil just got $22m a year from HOU.  I imagine Trent wants to be the highest paid LT.  Granted, he’s in his 30s, but i can’t imagine that helped his trade market.

That's an absurd amount of money. And Williams ain't sniffin' anything near it. Unless he gets traded to the Texans, then you never know. Maybe BOB will trade JJ Watt for an eighth round pick, or something...
