Texansfan713
https://www.nfl.com/prospects/ross-blacklock?id=3219424c-4124-6567-64a2-94c97f8f8038 Overview Flashes menacing disruptive qualities as a gap seeker, but is just ordinary when forced to sit and take on blocks. Blacklock rebounded from a 2018 Achilles injury and showed off basketball quickness that was often too much for a single blocker. However, his technique and hand usage need work, as he's inconsistent holding the point and keeping his feet. He's a hit-or-miss run defender, but he's a relentless pass rusher with elite lateral quickness and change of direction to exploit interior galoots and open pathways to the pocket. Blacklock needs development as a one-gapping three-technique with rare movement talent and intriguing rush potential. amazingandre
Achilles injury you say. Ahhhh yes must be a Texans “fit”
LORK88
This was the correct pick. Not the sexiest pick, but he'll immediately start and help out. Ross will play 3-4 DE and will kick in on passing downs. His versatility is a huge plus as he can play everything from nose tackle to 5 technique. He played mostly the equivalent of a nose tackle for TCU so he wasn't put in favorable positions to pass rush, but his burst, athleticism, and finishing is top notch and will translate well. He gets to learn from JJ and has all the tools to become a top player at the position. I really like this pick and think it makes a ton of sense. Big need, great fit, and he was a borderline round 1 talent. Hopefully we add pass rushing or a DB in round 3.
ET80
I like the pick a lot... Tough, relentless, athletic. He's an ideal interior pass rusher.
Texansfan713
Watching his highlights I am really impressed by his motor. If he can improve his hand usage we will get a straight stud. He eats on single blockers. I remember when UH was a finalist for him out of high school. He was 326 in high school. Crazy how much weight he lost while being injured in 2018. Edited April 25, 2020 by Texansfan713

Pastor Dillon
My guess is that he plays very sparingly this season, mainly playing DT in our nickle
