Based on all of what we saw from him last offseason, or that we didn’t see much of him last offseason?

Based on the fact that he was a 7th round pick (and those very rarely work out) from a small school and was almost immediately redshirted. Odds are, he'll never play a down for the Bears or any team.

Agreed - just speculation on my part since we currently only have Bush as a supposedly viable SS option and they seem to like Toliver but also just drafted a guy to start over him.

They should let Toliver compete for the job. They won’t because he went in 2nd, but they should.

They always say position battles are fair, but very few teams practice that.  Bears aren’t one of them.

Toliver is just a depth guy

Bars arguably won a starting job based on camp and preseason last year and didn’t even make initial roster.

While Long couldn’t block anyone in camp and still started.  Not saying Bars should have started RG, but Long should not have,

Shaheen and Burton never practiced and when they did they were literal hot garbage and they started.

He’ll compete for it but he’s a much lesser player than Johnson is. If he weren’t then they wouldn’t have taken Johnson.

Because you say so?  It may be true, but prove it on grass in legit competition.  Don’t just declare it.

Because the coaches clearly think it...if they didn't they wouldn't be taking a 2nd round CB or bringing in a highly touted CFL player or Artie Burns.

That is likely, but not proven.  Point is it doesn’t matter. Johnson is starter.
