vike daddy
With help from Minnesota's safeties, Rhodes limited Julio Jones to a negligible 24 yards on two catches and six targets. Even if Jones had managed to corral two high passes that bounced off his finger tips, he would have been hard-pressed to reach 50 yards. Locking down No. 1 receivers all season, Rhodes is battling the Jaguars' Jalen Ramsey, the Chargers' Casey Hayward and hotshot Saints rookie Marshon Lattimore for a first-team All-Pro spot. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000886948/article/case-keenum-vikings-stay-hot-in-victory-over-falcons

vikingsrule
Just now, SemperFeist said: It might have gone for 8 yards. I don't know. Julio in the open field catching a pass in stride and Rhodes not really in position to make a play, would have been a tough stop for the safety. vike daddy
luck plays a part in the whole game. Ryan and the Birds are lucky Mac Alexander went for a breakup instead of a pick 6.
Klomp
I thought this was really interesting. "He was like, 'I'm not a big talker. I go out there just like my defense and we just do it big every time we step on the field. But then I started talking a little more because I realized the cornerbacks that are chirping are looked at as better than me. But I'm the best corner in football.'" -Nate Burleson on Xavier Rhodes http://www.vikings.com/media-vault/videos/Burleson-Vikings-Are-That-Good-Will-Bounce-Back-In-2018/efec56c3-5d3f-48ab-a67d-7de38a1afeee

vike daddy
Xavier Rhodes is widely regarded as one of the NFL's best cornerbacks and the Minnesota Vikings rewarded him with a contract that reflects that prior to the start of the 2017 season, but now someone that is a familiar rival is heaping upon him the highest of praise. Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones, now an analyst for NFL Network, has Rhodes ranked as his best cornerback in the entire league. Jones: "Rhodes were closed a lot in 2017, as the Vikings' CB1 shut down top receivers weekly. It's one thing to travel with the best receivers, but it's another to produce, too. In coverage in 2017, Rhodes gave up just two touchdowns, a 79.0 passer rating against and a 54.7 completion percentage when targeted. He can cover on the outside, inside or in the slot, and his size (6-foot-1, 218 pounds) and physicality at the line of scrimmage give receivers fits, making it hard for them to create separation, because he can push receivers off their routes.I've gone head-to-head with Rhodes, and these qualities, coupled with his ability to play bump-and-run and off coverage well, make him a nightmare matchup on the island." https://247sports.com/nfl/minnesota-vikings/Article/Former-Packer-James-Jones-says-Xavier-Rhodes-is-best-cornerback-in-NFL-118424250
Frank Costello
What's this I am hearing about Barr? Is he sitting out because of family/personal problems? Or is this a contract issue? Sorry been out of the loop.

vike daddy
When asked who is the best cornerback in the NFL, Xavier Rhodes had an interesting exchange with SiriusXM host Adam Schein. Rhodes: “Man, we all know that answer. You want me to really answer that? Of course, me. Rhodes closed, it’s taken off.” Asked who is the second-best cornerback in the league, Rhodes continued to exude confidence. Rhodes: “I’m the top five. So it’s Xavier, Xavier, Xavier, Xavier, Xavier. The guy I always respected, and I told him, I told him face-to-face, ‘I always respect you as a man and as a corner.’ I know him personally, it’s Patrick Peterson. The guy’s technique is flawless. He’s been in the game for a while, but that’s one guy I watch his technique still to this day.” https://247sports.com/nfl/minnesota-vikings/Article/Xavier-Rhodes-declares-himself-NFLs-best-cornerback-talks-Minnesota-Vikings-119077666/

SteelKing728
I thought I heard Rhodes wasn't much of a talker? Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like he didn't really start showing this sort of confidence until 2016.
