The only concern that I have is that he's currently RB2 and has never played a snap there. I love his versatility but Jacobs played a good portion of the season hurt and eventually had to miss 3 games. God forbid if Jacobs had to miss time this year can Bowden or Richard carry the rock 20+ times? But there are still some solid free agent RB's on the market so hopefully we add someone and carry 4 RB & 5 WR with Bowden being able to play either spot.

Ideally we'd sign Carlos Hyde but he probably want starter money/snaps.

There doesn't seem to be much of a market for him so maybe we could convince him to come here on a 1 year deal. Would be a nice compliment to Jacobs as a bigger back and a great insurance policy in the scenario that Jacobs has to miss any time. If Lamar Miller is healthy he'd also be a really nice addition especially with his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. We could also bring back Isaiah Crowell if his medicals check out okay.

34- for 233 2 tds and game winning td pass though

I could care less about this... I don’t think he’s a psycho that’s more likely to do this again than any other player.   The coaches should have stopped that long before it escalated to that level... that was a long series of incidents before the punch.

I actually want some bad MFers on this team.  Bowden seems like one.  I think he could be a nice slot WR and RB for us.  But I don’t think he’s a RB2 this year for us.  Maybe he can be next year if he’s able to bulk up, but I’d guess doing so would sacrifice him as a slot WR.

btw i fully support Mayocks CEO approach of establishing a culture of strength and leadership on this team.  Im willing to accept we sacrificed a decent amount of talent to have 2 years worth of large draft classes (a decent percentage of our roster) for the next 3-4 years of guys who he hand picked to be the core of the team.

but... I hope next year we don’t sacrifice talent again.  That doesn’t mean who take headcases.  It means you don’t take Tanner Muse in the 3rd.  We’ve got our core and are good.

Also a little concerning going into the season with an RB2 that has never played a snap at the position.

Exactly. We have a specialist type RB in Richard I was hoping we picked up a more traditional ball carrier. However let's trust the staff but I have my questions.

One thing I would worry about transitioning a player to RB is pass protection

Yeah he wouldn’t be doing much of that his first year, I’d assume.  Grudens huge on pass protection from RBs.  It’s a big reason Richard gets so many 3rd diwn snaps.
I don’t think he’s going to be just a trick play RB but will use only used in specific situations. If we can get 4-6 runs a game out of him that’s be great.

we still need a RB2 though.  God forbid Jacobs goes down we’d have to trade for someone if before the deadline or sign someone off the street and deal with the sharp decline in productivity.  Bowden + Richard couldn’t handle 18-25 carries successfully.

Guys, I don't post in here much.

But I just wanna say that I'm from Kentucky and I've watched a ton of UK Football.  Trust me, y'all are gonna love Lynn Bowden.  He'll give you everything he's got.

I am absolutely thrilled that he's joining my favorite NFL team!

Having watched a lot of him at Kentucky do you think he projects as a running back, slot receiver or just a gadget type player at the next level? It'd be really interesting to hear your thoughts on where you think he fits best for us and how you see him working into the offense moving forward.......

He can do anything that the team asks him to do.  He was initially brought in as a receiver and that's where he played most of his college career.

Last season, UK lost their 1st string QB Terry Wilson to a torn patellar tendon in their 2nd game of the season.  Back-up Sawyer Smith got injured in the 4th game.

Bowden took over at QB in the 4th game and started the rest of the season beginning with the 5th game and proceeded to rush for over 1500 yards against SEC competition.

I see him as a gadget type of player tho, he can run, he can catch and if you're looking for some trickery...he can even throw the ball a little bit.

I'm very excited to see how he'll fare in Las Vegas!
