I was playing around with the cap a bit on OTC, and it would definitely be doable depending on how Dak's contract is structured. But as long as the "rollover" BS exists, we'd have plenty of room. Especially when you factor in Frederick's coming off the books.

Keeping on restructuring contracts every year and pushing everything back will definitely backfire one day. I for one wish the team would stop doing this.

Buddy - cap trouble are a myth. Any team in the NFL can raise millions in a minute.

Bingo. Cap rollover is a miracle. You sign a dude for $35m in 2020 when the cap is $200m. Turn it into signing bonuses. Then you end up accounting most of it 5 years from now when the cap is $300m.. Players love it. And all the sudden these "OMG cant pay a QB 15% of the cap" never happen.

Beyond that, a lot of it works out naturally. Because in 5 years Cooper and Tank will be gone. Theres $40m. We have 5 years to address those needs.

This is just how the NFL works now.

Do you remember Garrett's three straight 8-8s? This team overpaid on mediocrity that had a good year or two - Ratliff, Barber, Gurode, Carr, some safety I forget, Austin, Kosier, etc. And we kept rolling over, restructuring, playing with numbers. It caught up to the team at the start of those 8-8 years to the point we had to slowly start cutting and eating hits so we could sign better players down the road. We had pushed and pushed and pushed everything backward to the point the future was at risk. Eventually those roll overs and restructures catch up to you. There is cap trouble still in the NFL but it takes some.serious mismanagement and overspending on players undeserving of that money to get there.

Leave it to our team to be one of the last 2 or 3 teams to have put themselves into that corner. Ugh.
