Slater is the player who might be the likely non-QB player that nobody is talking about

Smart, polished, can play any position. It makes sense. Tackle is the one spot where we are pretty good. But he could come in and kick out Isaac too. Fill in for Brooks if he gets hurt again and take over one of those OT spots. Would depend just how out they are on Dillard

Sewell makes sense too if Bengals/Dolphins went Slater. Because Stout more than anyone could coach and polish him up.

Slater covers for Kelce not coming back. He can play center or LG.

Yeah that versatility is a rare thing. Given the turnstiles of injuries we’ve had he covers a lot of holes.

I’m sure a large part of fanbase would be pissed, and I can’t say it wouldn’t be a little disappointing. But it makes sense. Total Howie move too.

if Lance is the only Qb left and the panthers or broncos are willing to give us a 4th this year and asecond next. Why not trade down a few spots and take him?

A+ if we move down, all the QBs are gone. As are Chase, Pitts, Smith, Sewell (one would still be on the board if it’s 8.) and take Slater.

Probably two firsts and two 2nds and the salary space next year could help out a lot to turn things around.

Looking at the board I’m fine moving all the way back to the Niners pretty easily for the right deal.

If Howie is smart, which is a massive if, he convinces the world we want a QB and gets a huge haul for that pick. Having a massive bounty of picks is what they need to turn this team around

If chase or fields isn’t available I’m down to trade down and pick up another 1st next year hopefully. I would like to trade down get parsons and trade up in round 2 for Bateman. While having possibly 3 firsts next year and 70 mill in cap space.... great rebuild already. 2023 we should be contenders again if it goes right.

They would probably trade up ahead of us, which is great and drops chase

Luckily the Falcons probably won’t trade with the Panthers and the Bengals barely ever trade. So whoever would try to get ahead of us will have to pay a lot to get to #3. Which could prohibit suitors.

Bateman will go around pick 25, maybe earlier

having extra picks doesnt mean anything if they aren't used well just look at the browns.

Three first rounds picks means absolutely nothing if Howie is the one doing the drafting next year.

As much as I love Sewell, that’s just like picking hurts last year. We have one of the best tackle situations in the lg with 3 starters And a good backup in Driscoll. We need the good tackles to go before us to drop chase
