I understand what you're saying but I think you're selling Olave, Bateman, St Brown and Marshall short here.

The 2021 class has three guys cemented as tier one, however tier two isnt that bad either.

St Brown is a real sleeper IMO. Really wanna see how he does at the combine.

But.. he IS a USC WR. @TheRealMcCoy how you feel about him?

Roche? Not a bad mid round guy.

Jaelen Philips (spelling?)

I checked him out on TDN and apparently he was a 5 Star recruit out of highschool.

Oh good call. Phillips makes more sense then Roche.

He was a 5* guy that went to UCLA, if I remember correctly. Had a bunch of injuries but finally figured it out at Miami.

I think Roche was who I was thinking of but I think I kinda merged them in my head. Heard them both referred to as "the other miami edge"

Yeah last years class was great, and deep too. This one has like what, 3 guys who’d be near the top if you merged them. The rest of the 2021 guys would be waiting awhile. And I don’t hate them, just last years class was so good.

Oh yeah they are good, just you are inserting Chase and Smith at the top, and Waddle at his best is in that Lamb/Jeudy tier.
3 new ones in the top 5 pushed everyone down. Then you'd have Jefferson still on his own tier coming out. With Ruggs high for people because of speed.

Then it'd be a free for all with Reagor, Aiyuk, Shenault, Moore, Olave, Bateman, St Brown, Marshall, Mims, Hamler, Higgins
With Pittman and Claypool somewhere near the backend coming out after college.

Like just realistically some of those guys are going mid third or even top of day 3 in a combo draft.

I think that next tier this year has way more guys who have more tools to play with. More well rounded options.

I like St. Brown a lot. I don’t think I would call him a real sleeper though. That should only apply to guys who are like definite day 3 guys. I get what you are saying since he’s not the most talked about guy like the top group or sometimes even the second group. Unless things changed and I’m out of the loop he’s not a day 1 guy obviously, but he’s firmly entrenched in that day 2 guy range. So, he’ll be one of our top options if we don’t go the wide receiver route in round 1 and with Roseman almost certainly still here in 2021 now there is a good chance of that being the case.

Anyways, he’s was a highly touted prospect coming out of Mater Dei which is a high school powerhouse here in Southern California and the nation as a whole. He produced right off the bat as a true freshman in 2018. He’s a tough dude and plays like it. He’s got the swagger and my ball mentality you want from a receiver. He’s not afraid to mix it up. Wouldn’t say he’s the most athletic like he’s not gonna jump out the gym or have a blazing 40, but he has really good quickness is a good route runner with pretty good hands and ability after the catch. I’m not gonna say he’s a slot only cause he did play on the outside a bit and think he can win there too. Not gonna make the same mistake I made with Justin Jefferson last year in that regard, but just like Jefferson I think he’s a beast in the slot and that still remains his best spot. He’s a smart receiver too and I literally searched his name and smart on Twitter and this was the first thing that popped up for me.

Fun Fact(s): Tee Martin was our old offensive coordinator. He was also the BCS Champion in 1998 and the NFL Europe Championship loser in 2002. His son is Amari Rodgers who was a favorite target of Trevor Lawrence and just declared for the draft this past week.

Anyways, like Martin said over 2 years ago he is capable of moving around with his smarts, technical skill and quick feet.

If he ends up an Eagle I think our fans will be happy. I have more faith in him with us than I ever had in Agholor. Also, unlike Nelson his confidence won’t waiver if he goes through a slump with a few drops. I mean it should come as no surprise that someone with the name Amon-Ra would be full of confidence. You kinda have to be lol. I think he’s the type of guy that if picked would quickly become a fan favorite.

Yeah I just don’t really agree here. This is a better WR class to me overall, but respect the take Kilt. Last years was damn good too. This decade as a whole has given us some really good classes tbh. Unfortunately we don’t have really anything to show for it currently, even if I do believe in Reagor.

Y’all really need to catch up and start actually reading my posts. I dropped this knowledge onto you guys a month ago and it went unnoticed cause we were in our typical WR talk and plus I just don’t think most of you guys recognized the name.

Rousseau might not even be the best DE on his own team. Check out Jaelen Phillips. Kwity Paye is another good defensive end that will be a top 15 pick.

41. Jaelan Phillips DE (could've went Jayson Oweh too)

Then, just about a week later I mocked him to us in the 2nd round. 😎

However, if his medicals check out he probably won’t make it to our 2nd pick though.

Ha didn't think it was much of a take but I'll go with it.The free for all list wasn't in order if thats what you meant..
Last year was a great year for more specialists, this year seems better for well rounded #1 or high volume types from what little I've looked into it. Does that sound right?
Like a lot of these tier 3 guys this year I'd take over Reagor, Aiyuk, Hamler, Shenault, Higgins, etc. [Tier 1 being Chase/Smith, Tier 2 being Lamb/Jeudy/Waddle]

I haven't really gone too deep into it. Because it's either take Chase or Smith at 6 or take Olave, Bateman, St Brown, Marshall, Moore at the start of round 2. We need a #1, not more athletic flawed receivers who need a lot of time to develop

Yeah that’s fairly accurate I’d say.

I could definitely see the case for that discussion with a lot of guys in tier 3. I will say I’m still a lot higher on Reagor than a lot of you guys. I wouldn’t even say the case is closed on him being behind even guys you have in Tier 2. Speaking of which I’m surprised you left Jefferson out of your Tier 2. Can kinda understand Ruggs, but I also think it’s way too early to be giving up on him too.

I'm going off how they were thought about in the draft. Didn't want to rewrite history just cause of JJs rookie season.
The entire process it was Jeudy and Lamb..and then people enticed with Ruggs' abilities. Ruggs was really mostly projection...in reality he'd be tier 2 still for a lot of teams. Jefferson was like Tier 2.5, just teams..like us...didn't value what he was.

Of that list I do think Reagor had some of the best potential. Like he has the speed, showed the hops in college and he has the body/ability to be versatile. Wasn't a great first year, but not going to shut the door on any of it given the rest of this team.

Reagor was exactly what we needed last year. Don’t get it twisted.

Hey I was right there too... if you'll recall......

Did another mock on TDN. Wilson and Lance were both still there at 6, so I had to do trade back.

Full Results:

12. Ja’Marr Chase - WR

36. Azeez Ojulari - EDGE/LB

44. Tyson Campbell - CB

62. Chazz Surratt - LB

89. Paris Ford - S

113. Levi Onwuzurike - DT

150. James Wiggins - S

152. Kylin Hill - RB

And, before anyone says anything I know Chase being there at 12 is weird and likely not very realistic, but Waddle and Smith were both off the board. Just make the change in your head instead of saying Chase won’t be there. I’m just posting it how it came out. Ya know?

I mocked him in the first in my latest mock draft that I dropped two weeks ago.

As someone who very closely follows recruiting/college football, I recognized the name but I also recognized that he's a one year wonder and I understand that injuries played a big part in that but there's still some reason for concern when it comes to him.

I mean that's cool to see someone been paying attention lol.

I've been on him since he was coming out of HS, bc I wanted him to come to USC. Was disappointed he wasn't living up to his billing at UCLA, but not sure he would have if he came to USC either. We aren't the best with edge rushers. Going to Miami really turned around his draft stock.

He has all the tools to be a pretty great DE. Obviously yeah the injuries are a concern, but that's what the combine and thorough medical tests the league/teams put players to is for. Not sure where you mocked him if it was our 2nd like I did. However, I think if he checks out, then good chance he's going round 1 and won't be there for our 2nd round pick, but yeah.

Dane recently moved him into the back end of his new 2 round mock draft that was pretty good. He gave us Ja'Marr Chase and Nick Bolton which I'd be down with, but if we could get Phillips with our 2nd rounder that would be ideal. I'd be willing to trade back a little in the first and trade up into the late 1st from our high-ish 2nd to nab Phillips if he's there and obviously if the medicals check out like I mentioned above.

same lol...

i mean

chasing down Lawrence after bending the corner to get close to a sack.... whew

took on that pulling guard like it was nothing.... lol smh

like....

Only reason he shouldn't land in round 1 is if the medicals come don't come back good and for his sake I hope they do. Dude was the #1 recruit in the nation in 2017 and the #41 recruit ever (according to 247), then Chip Kelly (yikes..) came along in 2018 and he just suffered a lot of injuries before he finally took a break and came back transferring to Miami.

His athletic profile is going to test out of the water - assuming his medicals check out (which is iffy), he's probably a top 15 guy, IMO.
