Xmad
How did some team not overpay for Jameis in FA i am still confused by that.
Daimonas
I am fully expecting Jameis to turn into the next great quarterback under the tutelage of a soon retiring Brees. I'm not even meme-ing.
Kirill
Saints got their Bridgewater replacement.
drd23
But what about Taysom Hill? I thought he was a starting QB?
RamblinMan99
I think this is actually a really good destination for Jameis. You have Brees on his way out soon, so Sean Peyton can have him ready to go until he decides whether or not he wants somebody better. Regardless, Winston will be good for them in the meantime.

That is still the case, but as long as Drew Brees is there, the Saints will want to use Taysom Hill as a weapon. But you'll only do that if he's not your direct backup.
LETSGOBROWNIES
Great signing tbh. I know Jameis gets clowned a lot, and for some good reasons, but not many backups have the ability to throw for 5k or 30 TD’s. Hopefully he takes this time to learn and refine his game. If so, this could work out really well for him.

Yea clearly everyone was given a sizable time to land him and of all the backups to be Brees with Payton is a great destination
JMG5
Honestly don't hate it. Allows us to continue to use Taysom in his current role.
CP3MVP
So basically they don’t believe in Hill as a backup or future starter

sdrawkcab321
Good decision by him. Get the bridgewater treatment and sign somewhere in a year or 2 when the old heads retire.
Soko
Good deal. Jameis learns behind Brees and the Saints get a backup QB that can win them games in the event Brees goes down. Also let’s them do what they will with Hill without worrying about being down to one QB. Jameis is lulzy but it’s a good deal for both parties.
