I think it will be the opposite. QBs and OTs will push stud defensive players they could use down the boards, but they reach for need.

You are absolutely right. 3 QBs going in the 1st 3 picks, and I can see a team like the Broncos or Panthers moving up to grab that 4th QB.

With a little luck, Gruden will take his head out his Arse and grab one of those studs at 17 or even move around a bit.

I have always wondered how he gets his head to fit with Cable and Carr already up there.

I honestly think that we were targeting Antonio Gibson at #80 but he came off the board in the early 1st round. He had a successful year transitioning from WR to RB.

As far as UDFA goes I understand why we didn't pursue very many last year because of the lack of practice time before the season.

I think so too, I really wanted Gibson too. I guess that is what they said about UDFA, feel like they got cocky. Our team needs to add talent any chance they can get, we aren't an elite team to overlook bringing in cheap prospects into the program. Management prolly thought 2019 class would take another step, and they nailed the 2020 class so no need for UDFA. other teams added more talent and always continue to do so.

dam, sounds like a OT Cable would love, and has a good ceiling. Never heard of him, but I'll take that Nate Solder comparison. This Tackle class is so stacked, I have no doubt we can find a rock solid RT in the 3rd. Kinda would be annoyed if we drafted one at 17.

I think a lot of it falls on Carr as well though. Carr has always been a guy that targets players who he trusts, Amari Cooper is the perfect example. During his final like year and a half with us Carr wouldn't throw him the ball, he goes to Dallas and he's a 1,000+ yard WR again.

Definitely. I actually think they had the worst chemistry of any 2 offensive players on the team last year. And there were still so many "almost" moments or flashes of brilliance. If they can get it together, watch out.

how do you like this mock?

17 - Micah Parson | LB | Penn State - hopefully he drops, and we go BPA

48 - Jevon Holland | FS | Oregon - fills a need, rangy FS with all the desirable skills

80 - Spencer Brown | Tackle | Northern IOWA - system fit, should be a good spot for a Tackle

81 -  TYLER SHELVIN | DT | LSU - Could be a steal

121. Ben Cleveland | G | Georgia -  Complete our OL overhaul

162 - CHRIS GARRETT |Edge| Concordia College St. Paul- small school kid, but dominated his level of competition. dart throw that he can bulk up a little and hang with the big boys

167 - Robert Rachell | CB | Central Arkansas - really like this guy, there's actually a few day 3 corners I like. This guy is from another small school who plays physical press man brand of football. Competition and depth.

200 - James Wiggins  | S | Cincinnati - I think we double dip at safety to improve the talent level, Wiggins play was down after he tore his acl in 2019. He is a physical freak, and can provide depth at either spot. I think he can comeback strong, a few interesting safeties we could go after on day 3.

I like the Brown and Shelvin picks in the third round. Not a huge fan of Holland in Bradley's scheme unless we'd be planning to use him as a NCB.

I was listening to an NFL draft podcast and one of the hosts was talking about safeties and he said when you look at safeties guys that are ball hawks in college typically are ball hawks in the NFL as well.

Andre Cisco comes with some risk but there's no denying his playmaking ability. He had 13 INT and 14 pass breakups in 24 games at Syracuse. He'll need to clean some things up but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the best safety from the draft class.

Andre Cisco definitely has a potential to be the best safety in this class. The key problems might be between the tackling issues inconsistency and I him coming off of the injury May make it so he’s not ready to start  this year.

Tre Boston on a 1 year deal and Cisco in the third round would be an ideal situation.

I think @Frankie2Gunz might love this kid.

At his pro day he was 6'4" 222 and his testing numbers were:

40 time: 4.39s (87th percentile)

3-cone: 6.78s (77th percentile)

20-yard shuttle: 4.21s (53rd percentile)

Broad jump: 120" (47th percentile)

Vertical jump: 34.5" (38th percentile)

Bench reps: 16 (64th percentile)

Yea that was a scenario I mentioned like a month ago. That would be the best value for both FA and the draft(especially if we get best player available in the first and OL in the second).
