Looks good on paper, add a DC and watch out

I really think if we hit on the draft, and a few free agents we will make that jump to solid playoff team. If we had an average defense we would be there. Looks good on paper, add a DC and watch out Dayo plays on Vanderbilt which was an absolutely awful team this year. The game you are most likely to have seen was the Sarah Fuller game Vandy v. Mizzou where Vandy lost like 40-0 or whatever. Many plays just go away from Dayo, or he crashes the line to allow a LB to have a free shot on a RB and it just isn't pretty. However if you look at the few pass rushing situations you can see a variety of moves like arm bars into bull rushes, outside and inside swim moves and the works. He obviously just looking at him has exceptional length and I wouldn't be surprised if he measures out as 35 to 36 in arms. I don't think he's ready yet, but he is smart and his head is in the game and plays hard through adversity and plays for his teammates even when many of them kept opting out on a lost season. Youtube has a highlight video from last year (this year was just oof by the team so it's harder to evaluate given the support isn't really there, so if you want to look for full games probably look at 2019)
Blazer026
Hoping we do what the panthers did this year and draft pretty much all defense

We've spent a ton of draft capital on the defensive side of the ball over the last two years and it hasn't helped us at all.

But the opt outs who didn’t even play you have to consider them and we have no idea if they’ve regressed over the year.

How many top prospects opted out? The LB from Penn State and WR from LSU the only ones I remember, oh and the DE from Miami.

NYRaider
It's hard to even project the draft because we have so many holes. We could literally take any defensive player and it'd probably be an upgrade.

agarcia34
No Jalen Phillips for Miami today since he already declared for the draft. He is quickly becoming a real favorite of mine.
