One whom JoeDee and Saleh, at the head of a team whose defense rose from 27th to 3rd in DVOA last year, plucked from obscurity. One whose contract is 57th among CBs signed so far, in sharp contrast to team mate Bryce Hall at 108th (Spotrac). Hardee doesn't have any resume as CB and is 28 years old now. That is crazy to think he is an upgrade at CB.

As things stand right now, Justin Hardee is likely to start at CB, and ahead of Hall. As you suggest, things may change between now and September. --from its 2021 nadir, yes. Not from 2020. I assure you if we are thinking Hardee is anything more than a special teams player we are in big trouble. You started your comment out with JD doing tremendous things at CB. I actually thought you were being sarcastic until I read more and realised you weren’t !

I think a team will reach for him and maybe top 6. I think he should be more in the 15-20 range because VERY few high flying TE that are going to "Change the game" panout. Most of the TE are bust. Jag68Sid87
Yeah, Hardee is not a good idea. Either we let the young guys develop or actually upgrade the position. None of this "take a flier on an underutilized special teams player and hope you find gold at the end of the rainbow" nonsense. Hopefully Douglas doesn't think he is smarter than everybody else... Cuz we just fired a head coach who thought that and it was a complete dumpster fire from day 1. Edited March 24, 2021 by Jag68Sid87
xrade
I would not worry about Hardee’s use. He is a special team gunner. That’s it. Our punt coverage unit sucked and he is one of the best. Nothing more to see here.

NewAge
Really like the idea of doubling down on OG/CB in the first few rounds after presumably drafting Wilson at 2.

Ditto. Maybe an OT who can play OG. Protects against injuries.
Sapo28
Take a look at potential cap casualties for next year (Dead Cap / Cap Savings) Fant ($1M/$9.6M) McGovern ($1.3M / $9M) Lewis ($ 0.8M / $6.4M) GVR ($0 / $3.5M ) We are already top 7 in cap space next year and JD is creating some real roster flexibility. Just from the look of these contracts I feel like we could be looking at another OL heavy draft.

Could also see a LB on day 2. There’s enough picks to go around, especially if Darnold gets dealt.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the last time we drafted two decent starting OL was Brick and Mangold. Long time ago.
