I hope Swift doesn’t wear 34.  Isn’t that like the opposite of #20 for the Lions?  Like every player that wears 20 is awesome and 34 is bustville?

Didnt the Kevins where 34? lol\\

I think Swift would look good in 28

I dunno if Okudah would want to take 23. I don't think Walker would give up 21, unless Okudah pays the freight. But he might. Maybe then Walker could take 26 or 29.

Okwara can get his college number 42. Likewise with Cephus and 87.

The guards, who cares.

Maybe Swift will take 23.  Would be easier to have a RB right after Slay than a CB that will get compared to him.  Also with the MJ documentary on I’m guessing people would be excited to have 23 again.

I hope they let it sit for a year or two so we can forget about Slay. Let him disappear and hand it out again

Dutch Clark 7 Detroit Lions 1934–38
Barry Sanders 20 Detroit Lions 1989–98
Bobby Layne 22 Detroit Lions 1950–58
Doak Walker 37 Detroit Lions 1950–55
Joe Schmidt 56 Detroit Lions 1953–65
Chuck Hughes 85 Detroit Lions 1970–71

Retired numbers

how do you retire a number from the 30s? i think every 20 years it should be reset. I could give two craps about Joe Schmidt and 56 is a good number lol

Your thoughts aren’t under consideration. It’s a tribute to a player. Fan sentiment doesn’t really matter nor should it.
