I mean, it's possible.  I don't think it'll happen.  Like @beekay414, Chase is WR1 for me as well.

Yeah, I think it's preference in what you want at WR. Do you want a wiry, cerebral type like AJ Green (Smith) or do you want a more explosive Deandre Hopkins (Chase). I prefer my WRs to be able to make catches all over the field, open or not. Chase is a much more physical WR than Smith. They are both studs, so this isn't Smith slander. They're just different.

Does Trey Smiths stock rise after this game as well?

Trey Smith from Tennessee the guard?  Not sure he is a scheme fit honestly.

I would like any of these guys, some have great versatility and could play OT or OG or better yet OG or C.  Say Leatherwood and Davis were both there, I would take Leatherwood because he can play OT, and Slater even arguably might lean him over Davis also but would be happy with Davis also.  Myers has oddly been so so this year but could be interesting as a guard, but Dickerson I would love as a guard in the 2nd round but we have no 2nd round picks.

Alex Leatherwood Alabama
Wyatt Davis Ohio State RS JR
Rashawn Slater Northwestern
Alijah Vera-Tucker USC RS JR
Josh Myers Ohio State RS JR
Landon Dickerson Alabama RS
Alaric Jackson Iowa RS
Zion Johnson Boston College
Royce Newman Ole Miss RS
Brett Heggie Florida RS
Conner Olson Minnesota RS
Ben Cleveland Georgia RS

Possibly position changes to guard, especially Van Lanen based on how David Edwards had mad that switch maybe Van Lanen will as well, especially since he struggles in pass pro.  Slater could be a monster guard as well potentially.  Moore I think might be able to switch and Jackson but doubt Jackson will, Zion already has played guard, same with Leatherwood on Bama.

Rashawn Slater Northwestern
Cole Van Lanen Wisconsin RS
Dan Moore Jr Texas A&M
Alaric Jackson Iowa RS
Zion Johnson Boston College

Jackson Carman sitting there could change things and they got OT, which is on the table with how poorly O'Neill has played honestly, surprised by that a little.  Jalen Mayfield would be a gamble but has tons of upside and is athletic but not likely to come out but who knows.

For those that are interested.

1. New York Jets (0-13) @ LAR, CLE, @ NE (SOS .599) - 0-16 looking like a reality.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-12): @ BAL, CHI, @ IND (SOS .546) - don't see them winning another game 1-15.

3. Cincinnati Bengals (2-10-1): PIT, @ HOU, BAL (SOS .532) - don't see them winning another game 2-13-1.

4. Dallas Cowboys (4-9): SF, PHI, @ NYG (SOS .488) - any result is possible.

5. Los Angeles Chargers (4-9): @ LV, DEN, @ KC (SOS .488) - found a way to win yesterday and LV is reeling.

6. Carolina Panthers (4-9): @ GB, @ WAS, NO (SOS .538) - tough schedule with WFT playing well and GB and NO fighting for HFA.

7. Atlanta Falcons (4-9): TB, @ KC, @ TB (.538) - maybe they beat TB once?

*8. Houston Texans (4-9): @ IND, CIN, TEN (SOS .546) - should beat CIN.

9. Philadelphia Eagles (4-8-1): @ ARI, @ DAL, WAS (SOS .532) - any result is possible. Do they roll with Hurts rest of the way?

10. New York Giants (5-8): CLE, @ BAL, DAL (SOS .498) - tough games against AFCN.

11. Detroit Lions (5-8): @ TEN, TB, MIN (SOS .500) - tough schedule, best shot at a win is against us in week 17.

12. San Francisco (5-8): @ DAL, @ ARI, SEA (SOS .546) - probably playing spoiler for their division rivals.

13. Denver (5-8): BUF, @ LAC, LV (SOS .558) - could squeak out another win or two.

14. Minnesota Vikings (6-7): CHI, @ NO, @ DET (SOS .500) - 6-10 or 9-7 will not surprise me. In reality we'll probably be 8-8.

15. Chicago Bears (6-7): @ MIN, @ JAX, GB (SOS .505) - could win out if GB rests their starters if they lock up HFA.

16. New England Patriots (6-7): @ MIA, BUF, NYJ (SOS .507) - will they get to .500?

19. Washington (6-7): SEA, CAR, @ PHI (SOS .464) - on a hot streak, maybe the can finish 8-8?!?!

When you generally have 10+ picks as the Vikings do, I don't have a huge issue with drafting a specialist.  Some of the non-specialists that they take in the last 3 rds don't make the team anyway...a specialist isn't going to be any different.  I think people spend too much time getting aggravated over picks like that.  I bet they wouldn't be aggravated if it worked out, like @CWood21  said happened with the Packers.  I mean, up until he dramatically flamed out, it looked like it was going to work out with Blair Walsh...and if Zimmer had more patience, it may have with Carlson.

And Austin Cutting had no issues last year, so who knows what would have happened had the shown some patience this year.
