this if a fair point. he's a better runner than i'm giving him credit for. i think im still quite bothered by the richard signing in conjunction with bowden pick

I think Bowden in gonna surprise some with his talent with the ball in his hands. But I see your point about the Richard signing because that puts Rod Smith (bruiser) and Booker (all purpose) on a collision course at the end of the roster. With RIchard and Bowden I think I would prefer Smith just to have another banger in the stable if Jacobs goes down (slams fist on wood) even though I think Booker would be great for this offense. If he can provide a special teams value he could beat out an extra Olineman or force on to the PS.

He has played a good amount of ST for Denver.

I'm cool with it.

Seems like a solid Jacobs' plan B while Bowden learns and focuses on being a utility back.

I really like the mix of skill sets we have on O right now- mobile QBs with strong arms, power backs, pass catching backs, big WRs, speed guys, possession guys, TE/WR hybrids, traditional TE's. Looks like we have a couple of focal points and a medley of Jack-of-all-trades types to keep D's guessing.

Our O certainly isn't vanilla anymore, that's for sure.

I haven't watched much of him.  Would you say he is an upgrade over Washington and a similar type back?

I would say similar.  Booker isnt a power back either, but usually at least falls forward.  He was a great receiving back at Utah and if we use him correctly he should be able to contribute.  He will be a good 3rd down RB option.  He is a pretty decent pass blocker and his hands are above average for RBs.  I see him as a small upgrade over Washington.

I think we have to start looking at Bowden as Harris’ replacement on the depth chart.  I guess he will be covering his special teams duties and I still don’t believe what Mayock keeps rolling out in him being a RB. It seemed a bit ‘though protest too much’ when he kept correcting pundits and journalists who referred to him as a WR. He’ll be that joker position when in imo - manufactured touches etc.

Hopefully that will spell Jacobs some, but I always expected we’d sign aWashington replacement as well. Hopefully Booker is it.

We will see, Mayock hasn't been known to lie like some suggested, when he said he had a faster 40 time for Arnette. He's going to train with the RB's, and honestly it's one of the easiest positions to play, no doubt he will be moved around too.

Interesting pickup. Don't expect much tbh. Not sure even with the lack of depth at RB he makes the team. Had a decent rookie year and just fizzled out after with all the other RB's the Broncos had.

His a good back his issues is fumbling, but i expect he makes the team, because as I said before he is a poor mans Jacobs, so he could come in and run the exact same plays and formations without the offense tipping their hand and we will be pleasantly surprised.what he does with his carries.

i feel like we are trying to talk ourselves out of the obvious... they're still surrounding jacobs with a bunch of backs who are considered passing down specialists. i wonder if they are concerns about ramping up his usage when he already got banged up as a rookie, which was his first year of being a true starter/workhorse

another pass catching back. the brass doesnt seem all that interested in expanding jacobs' role in that department

I don't know, he had 262 touches in 13 games. Don't wanna run him into the ground I suppose, but I get what you're saying.

As for Booker, I see he only had two rushes last year? Figured he was hurt but played in 15 games.

Was a tough runner coming out and is duel threat back, again he fumbled 4 times in his rookie season and pretty much was limited ever since, he will need to show he can hold on to the ball.

Good camp invite, maybe Bowden is the real deal and there is no need for Booker. We will see

off topic: what team could you see Carlos Hyde start for?? He likely a RB2 at this point

he's coming off a strong season where he performed well as a starter. i feel bad for the guy, honestly.

I think the Patriots, Falcons, Dolphins, Steelers, Chargers could all make good use of him. Unless he's waiting for a camp injury elsewhere to swoop in.

We need to just keep 2 QBs, Everyone knows Peterman sucks.... is peterman ps Eligible? Keep 2 QBs, 4rbs since Bowden is going be converting to a new position.

Nice signing.... not amazing but solid

and under the new rules 2 of the 12 players can be of any experience level (not subject to normal PS eligibility and get 204k not 142.8k)

so peterman or any QB can be one of the 2 “new” PS players

Our emergency QB should be on practice squad and not the 53 if that is the case. Probably keep Peterman around on PS for emergency and knowing the playbook...
