Drachma
OL - George Warhop - Jaguars hired him on last year in 2019. Our offensive line woes IMHO stem from lack of overall durability and that's led to a breakdown in cohesion since there's been a revolving door here and there at various positions. Doug Marrone's back ground in this area has failed miserably to shine through. I think a lot of our pass protection issues were exposed when Foles was in the line up last year and they were masked heavily with guys like Bortles and Minshew being capable of dancing around and scooting downfield if all else failed. I am optimistic that Warhop can fix Cam Robinson at LT. Whether he's injured or costing you a huge 3rd down conversion by playing sloppy football he's just not a guy I have much faith in anymore. Jawaun Taylor gets a slight free pass at RT since he was a rookie. Cann is just a guy at RG. He may be pushed out of his role this summer if Bartch shows up early from this year's draft class. Linder needs to improve in the penalties department and hold up physically at C. Norwell is hit or miss at LG. OC - Jay Gruden - Very excited with him here in Jacksonville. I like his approach to the game. I think he was handed a poor hand in Washington just based on how Synder has a tendency to run and do things as an owner in the NFL. He was able to get some pretty decent production out of various QB's throughout his career. Now that he's back to just coaching one side of the football I think he'll aim to make Minshew his catapult back into head coaching as early as 2021, 2022 if Minshew takes a GIANT step forward in year two under his leadership. DC - Todd Wash - Not a fan. Not a fan at all. I don't like his approach to the game. I question his play calling routinely when he has a habit to go into zone coverage on 3rd and 3 with no additional pressure applied outside of his base four with his corners playing 5 - 7 yards off the LOS. Veteran QB's see that, identify that and take advantage of it all the time. It's embarrassing. In 2017, even when we played a bunch of scrubs at QB or QB's with limited experience in the NFL and he had an embarrasment of riches talent wise? He still managed to get schooled by Gabbert, McCown, Mariota (twice) and Garoppolo (recovering from an ACL). When you couple in the fact that every single year we heard locker room grumblings from various defensive players either questioning or flat out NOT liking the way they were being utilized in the grand scheme of things it just makes it that much worse. When Gus Bradley was fired they should have kicked him to curb along with him. I am still not sure why he has a job. Last year the injuries were abundant on defense but there were always leaky scheme issues and failures to adjust throughout the previous years. With a young defense now intact lacking clear, cut veteran leadership? And we're up against the QB's that the NFC North and AFC North present? Along with Rivers now with the Colts who has historically always owned us. And with Watson already within the division? I think he's going to get further exposed in 2020 for the fraud that he is. What is a weakness of the Ravens if you don't think the interior O-line is one? Edge is a much bigger weakness.. Between Powers, Bozeman, Phillips, Bredeson, Skura, Mekari and Fluker we can find the best 3 to fill in the interior. Bozeman was good at left guard last year and lets not forget that Skura was playing at a pro bowl caliber before going down with the injury. All of this while having probably the best tackle tandem in the league sets up for a very good offensive line this season..
J-ALL-DAY
OL -The bookends are good but the interior is meh. It's okay, could be worse. OC- Yes, arguably the best in the game. DC- Yes, Saleh is a potential future HC in the next few years...and for good reason. Communicates well with the players and led a top 2 defense.
