Chrissooner49er
So 'believe' actually means he signed? New meaning to me.

dcat
He's not technically signed yet. Just a beat writer's projection, and this beat writer is an established liar and well known for a zillion false proclamations (i.e. he told Jets fans on the afternoon before the draft, that the Jets were trading down to the Eagles spot and would be getting Dillard and picks). RuskieTitan
Curious to see what he got. IIRC we paid him 9 mil this past season; when FA didn't pan out for him he asked for a similar pricetag and the Titans weren't interested. He's a good veteran and leadership, but not as quick as he once was. Depending on the pricetag, this could be good for the Jets.
dcat
Jets fans know this but the rest of the NFL world may not realize that you can never trust Mehta ever. He may end up being right, but Mehta is untrustworthy and completely unprofessional. Other Jets beat reporters Cimini and Costello came out and said their sauces are saying no formal offer has been made. Soko
I don’t know how Mehta still has his job after all these years.

Probably gets more clicks for the NYDN than any other beat reporter does for their respective tabloid. Edited May 12, 2020 by dcat
