Hero (2002)

Thank goodness!  By the way personally I would say Hero is a better film than Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.  Visually Hero is historic and quite amazing and that visual artistic aspect puts it over the top for me.   But I guess if it does not get in here could be a fantasy film as well potentially.  Visually it is freaking amazing.  I sure hope most have simply not seen it because it is far better than many of the films nominated for this time span I feel.

Pitch Black.
Hot Fuzz.
Serenity.

No offense man, but Serenity?  Not sure how that is an action film and honestly I was wildly disappointed by that film to be honest, thought it could be cool but that ending was just simply not in my book and went off the rails a little.  Thriller I would call it though not a action film as much.

I feel like the adventure in action/adventure is lacking in some noms. I excluded a couple movies already meeting the threshold.

Noms:

Spiderman 2 (Sam Raimi)

300

National Treasure

Pirates of the Caribbean

Count of Monte Cristo

Honorable Mentions:

Team America

Troy

Inglorious Bastards - really want to include this one but just misses the cut

I can't believe im having to do this.

I have never seen that film honestly, but something about it makes me think that is the absolute best part of the movie and nothing else even comes close to it.  Then again not like it is just a rip off of The Matrix and is an inferior scene and not nearly as artistically done or cool compared to what The Matrix did.  Is most the film like that?  Because The Matrix had more than just one badass fight scene.

You mean the same Matrix that started the CGI revolution that you were bashing not even 2 posts ago as not bringing any action to any movie?

CGI?  Percentage of CGI in The Matrix and these new super hero movies is not even comparable what so ever.  The Matrix I just read has about 20% CGI in the film, Infinity War has 96% CGI in the film.

I have no problem with CGI but if it is basically everything of note in the film, no thanks.

The most notable things from the Matrix was CGI. That's why it was such a big deal at the time.

Official Nominations
Gladiator
Pitch Black
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The Bourne Ultimatum
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Gladiator is literally my favorite movie of all time.  Pitch Black is one of the best cases of pure unfiltered badassery in movie history.  Great dialogue and performance from Vin Diesel. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon has amazing visuals to go along with a top notch story and excellent fight scenes.  Bourne 3 is my favorite of the 3 movies.  Bourne vs Desh might be my favorite 1 on 1 fight scene in movie history.  Before the series became a joke, the first PotC was so fresh and fun and I can still see it that when I watch it despite the cluster you know what the series became.

Honorable Mentions
Casino Royale
Bourne 1/2
Equilibrium
Minority Report
Oldboy
Spy Game
Mission Impossible III
Wanted
The Italian Job
Taken
The Fast and the Furious
Reign of Fire
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
XXX
The Island
Kill Bill
The Dark Knight
300
Tropic Thunder
X-Men
X2
Spider-Man 2
Iron Man
The Count of Monte Cristo
Troy

What a great decade for action, even outside of the emerging MCU and some other comic book movie classics.
