Far from an expert on this topic but it seems like up until a decade or so ago it was almost always a 12+ month recovery which pretty much was guaranteed to cost you the next season. Seems like around that time they got it down to about 8 months and more and more people were/are coming back and playing the next season. I can't remember the details (stem cells or something) but it cuts down on the recovery time considerably. BEAR procedure (courtesy of @squire12). We are collectively unsure if pro athletes are using it, however.

I'd think if anyone could be, it would be a pro athlete. They should be all over that. But yeah that's just speculation.

HeresAGuy
Is Jake Hanson at all a possibility to develop into our center once Corey leaves? Edited January 10, 2021 by HeresAGuy

That’s been the idea pretty much since he was drafted but it’s a complete guess at this point. Linsley is having the best season of his career right now and is probably the game’s best center. Big shoes to fill for anyone expected to replace him.
HeresAGuy
Could be Bakh-Jenkins-Hanson-Runyan-Turner with Stepaniak as the interior rotational guy

But he's a complete unknown at this point. He's been on the reserved/IR list for the PUP for a few months now.

If it means the potential of multiple millions of dollars on a future contract to the players, it is VERY important ACL tears happen to pro athletes. if a new surgical procedure can reduce the timeline to return and increase the return rate and how high the productivity is, it matters a lot. For every pro athlete that does an ACL on the field, there's 10 rich dudes who do theirs skiing or playing pick up basketball, and 1000 high schoolers who do it playing high school sports. Glad I'm not the only one around here who feels that way; though you may want to watch out in saying that because some will jump all over you simply because he's a 6th round pick... 13 hours ago, HeresAGuy said: Could be Bakh-Jenkins-Hanson-Runyan-Turner with Stepaniak as the interior rotational guy I could see that happening in the short-term, but it won't be surprising if we take another Tackle or two in this draft. We've got a fair amount of Day 3 picks this year and now that you can trade comp picks, we may package a few to move up somewhere.
