Compared to other rookie quarterbacks in the past decade, it's most fair to describe Daniel Jones' rookie season as above average. I'd say somewhere in the 60-65th percentile of CPOE and EPA. And if you cut down on the fumbles, and he jumps way up on the EPA list. In a world with no fumbles, he would have ranked 20th out of 38 quarterbacks in EPA in 2019. He can throw the ball, he's accurate, he can make plays with his legs. He just needs to cut down on the fumbles. Other top 5 drafted QBs? 9 minutes ago, Gmen said: And if you cut down on the fumbles, and he jumps way up on the EPA list. He had a higher CPOE than Stafford, Luck, Goff, Bortles, Trubisky, Bradford, Darnold. Worse than Newton, Murray, Watson, Mariota, Winston, Mayfield, Wentz. So yea, average even when compared to top 5 picks. Most rookie quarterbacks struggle. Comparing rookie quarterbacks to the rest of the league is unfair, especially when it comes to EPA, which gets killed by turnovers. Rookies struggle with turnovers. Thats not really a who's who of QBs to brag about. Bortles, Trubs and Bradford suck. Darnold and Goff look like they arent going to be anything special. And on 3rd and 4rth down, Jones was in about the 75th percentile for both CPOE and EPA
