I've long knocked Daniel Jones. But let's not ignore the improvement in 2021. He has managed above 7 YPA in all three games and has a decent 7.5 YPA overall. YPA is up across the league. Jones is bottom half. But at least it's not his typical 6.5 to 6.6 level from Duke and first two years in the NFL.

Now it needs to translate to touchdowns

As a Vikings fan and lukewarm-on-Kirk fan, these shocked me. He's a missed 37 yard FG and a bad fumble call in OT away from being near the top of the MVP race.

Cousins' struggles in prime time masked the fact that he carried a horrible WAS O back then.  And at the time, yes, he was overpaid relative to production (but that's what happens when you are the top FA QB - you get paid over actual production).    But his best skill now that he didn't have in WAS - dealing with pressure - is translating to results with a stellar supporting cast now in place.   We started to see it last year, and it's continued this year:

He'll never be elite, but being seen as a top 8-10 QB isn't crazy right now.   Especially when you factor in how bad the MIN OL still is.   They're better than last year, but that's not saying much - still a bottom half unit.   Cousins' ability to get rid of the ball in the face of pressure, and still make plays (that 3rd down conversion to Osborn was nuts) is really underrated.  One of the reasons why I took MIN last week as a home dog straight up vs. SEA, and why I'm considering it again vs. CLE.

So basically Jimmy Gs stats are skewed and he got lucky so far this year. This fits the eye test.

Not sure how you get "lucky" in that regard, but agree that he often fails the eye test. This just says what some niner fans have been saying for quite some time. He's not overly aggressive, throws to open windows, and he makes some awful decisions. He does make plays, but he's not a "good" qb.

Lucky in that sense that he made bad throws that didn't get picked but should have.
