At the time, how was that not a debate?

He had a 3 year (2017-2019) stretch where he went 71-75 on FG’s (94.6%)

Because - at the time - the quintessential argument from the Tucker crowd was "kicking is all about consistency year after year...lets see where Lambo is in five years' time". Welp.

Nobody said let’s see where Lambo is in five years time. Stop lyin.

Uh, yeah, we did lol, that was the entire argument from the Tucker crowd. Jags fans were arguing that Lambo was better because he had a better year that particular year (whenever the thread was), and Ravens fans were saying ok, but do it for 7-8 years consistently like Tucker and then we'll talk.

@AFlaccoSeagulls remember that thread a few years back where the jags fans were arguing Lambo>Tucker? haha

I'm still upset about how much time I wasted arguing that Tucker was better than Lambo. But hey, Lambo will always have those 2-3 years just like every other NFL kicker that people try to think is better than the GOAT!

Except "points given up by the defense" is not necessarily just a defensive stat, it's about complimentary football.

In those 4 games in 2001, Peyton threw 9 interceptions and fumbled 3 times. In total the offense lost 14 turnovers, 2 of which were returned for scores. The GB streak is bit more unlucky, but still 6 turnovers in 4 games (+13 sacks). Even in Brady's streak the Pats turned the ball over 4 times in two games to give up that many points.

In this 6 game streak Mahomes has thrown 8 INTs fumbled three times and been sacked 9 times, other players have fumbled 6 and they turned the ball over on downs 3 times. Several of those turnovers were returned for scores.

Then there's the game management. For example, the only reason the Chiefs 28 points streak is active is that, against the Eagles, with 2.30 to go and the game pretty much over, the Chiefs threw a 44 yard bomb instead of just running the clock out. That put a tired Chiefs defense out on the field to give up a meaningless touchdown, but they should never have been in the position to give up those points.

Obviously the Chiefs D is playing badly, but the O has made costly mistakes to put them in bad positions too.

Nice stat but context is needed.

Here is some context.

Mahomes has 7 turnovers during his current 4-game streak

Manning had 12 turnovers as mentioned above.

Brady has 1 in his last 4

We should all feel pity for Mahomes because that's what he needs?

His team only got to 3 straight AFCCGs.

Suck Less. This is the way.

In the last 5 years Brady is 8-2 in the playoffs when his team gives up 20+

Brees was 1-4

Mahomes is 4-2

Peyton Manning was 0-3 in Denver and 3-11 for his career.

Peyton "The Anchor" Manning had 3 TDs and 7 picks in his Indy SB run. (5 passing TDs and 11 turnovers on both runs)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say his D carried him to his only 2 Super Bowls.

Every lame shot at Brady that includes the word Manning is actually a compliment by a fool who has not done his research.

I get the desire to jump to defend Brady, but the Chiefs defense is bad because of Mahomes is not really the argument to do it with. Turnovers or not, KC leads the league in plays per drive and time of possession per drive, the Chiefs defense has faced the fewest opposing possessions of any defense in football, and we're slightly above average in terms of average opposing starting field position. The D is not allowing points because the offense is turning it over, the D is allowing points because it sucks regardless of how the other team got the ball. Teams average 45.2 yards per drive against us, 5 games in. If that were an offense, it would be ranked second in football to ours. The overall point of the tweet is perfectly valid, in that few elite QBs have had to deal with a defense as bad as this current one has been for KC.

Both South Divisions contain one team that is not culturally Southern.

The AFC has Indianapolis, which is also not geographically Southern, but rather, Midwestern.

The NFC has Tampa Bay, which while it is the NFC's southernmost team, they are located in the part of Florida whose character has been changed by the arrival of migrants from the North.
