DawgX
Hopefully they're just taking precautionary measures with some of those guys and that most of them will be good to go on Sunday.

Yeah but I’m not worried about those guys not playing. Ward greedy and OV will miss a week with a stubbed toe.

candyman93
Something really encouraging so far, this team is committed to an identity. They are a run first team on offense. Just hope the defense can be good at SOMETHING.

This offense doesnt need to be paying 2 WRs elite level money. The opportunities are just not there to support two of them. Landry can play the role of WR1 and you can stick a 2nd or 3rd rounder out there as WR2. Spend that massive amount of OBJs salary on extending Chubb/Ward and maybe get a 1st rounder out of a OBJ trade to spend on the defense. We have more cap space than any other team in the NFL, again, just like we always do. We don’t need to sell low on one of the 3 best players on the team just to go from 45 million in available cap space we won’t use to 60 million we won’t use. Harlem can still afford his steak dinners. I want the Browns to be good not cheap.

To really be a running team you at least have to have the threat of someone being able to beat you vertically to keep the safeties out of the box. OBJ is the only guy who’s a legit deep threat.
LETSGOBROWNIES
If we want to move OBJ we need a viable replacement and that’s not happening mid season.
MWil23
We are to the point as an organization that if we are going to move players, we need to: 1. Get 100 cents on the dollar in return (we aren't getting that for OBJ mid season) 2. We need proven players at that position, unless we have major depth and can actually address needs (For example: Trading Hunt would actually make sense in the offseason, albeit I don't want to do that and want to keep both RB). We can't downgrade at 2 starting WR spots without plugging viable production in those spots. 3. Draft picks are great, but we need high draft picks and/or proven players at these positions of need. DE, off ball LB, and S are absolute necessities, and we need to address the WR spots on the outside going forward, whether it's OBJ's replacement or opposite OBJ to free up Landry in the slot. Our offense is relatively basic due to personnel limitations at the WR positions when it comes to motion (they rarely do this), which means you are limited on routes, identifying coverage(s), and creating mismatches with LB and S or on the backside in the running game. You can unload a lot of guys for a nice return of picks when you are (re)building, but at this point, we are trying to contend, so we need guys who can step in immediately and make an impact at a few key spots. roger murdock
If we traded OBJ we’d be getting a second rounder back and burning a first in the draft to get his replacement who can hopefully be half as good, while likely not using the cap space to do anything to help the team win.
