It's hard to separate best without using positional value. I also doubt 4 offensive linemen are 4 of our best 10 players but that is a unique group in that they really depend on each other to look like any of them are doing their jobs.

Myles/Chubb are elite
Ward/Mayfield/Conklin would be my next level guys
Landry/Bitonio/Tretter/Clowney/Johnson/OBJ/Hooper are proven commodities
Then you have the one year guys like Teller and unproven guys like rookies and 1 year players.

You also have players like Higgins who outproduces where we rank them.

Pretty hard task really.

I agree with you.

I contemplated putting Ward #3 because he’s THAT good and THAT important when he’s healthy and on the field. I have Conklin 3rd because he’s consistently healthy and plays at an all pro level.

You could also phrase it as “who has HOF caliber talent?” Then you’re talking Myles, Nick, Jack, OBJ, Denzel, and maybe even Joel if he plays at his current level 4 more years.

About the offensive line, they have 3 all pros, so I’m gonna include them.

Guys who are top 3 at their position.

1. Myles, 2. Jj3, 3. Teller, 4. Chubb 5. Bitonio, 6. Conklin 7. Tretter.

Very productive players

Ward, landry, hunt, harrison, hooper, Higgins, baker, hill

Inconsistent but talented

Clowney, obj,

Talented rookies

Jok, newsome, Schwartz.

That's 20 guys to be excited about for different reasons.

Pretty good overall. Big thing, as Thomas stated, is positional value. So you just need to discern between best and most valuable. Quarterback is by far the most valuable, so if we were having that topic, I would have Myles Garrett and Baker Mayfield at the top.

Myles certainly. Chubb depends on his longevity. Jack, probably not, tough for a RT. OBJ...that ship already sailed but years one and two it looked to be HOF talent. Denzel, dunno. Joel, perhaps because of accolades but I've never seen him as more than good but many have so that's more important. Aside from Myles Mayfield is probably the most likely to actually enter the HOF.

Again I've never seen more than "good" from Bitonio. I'll take anything at solid or better so I'm thrilled we have him but he never seemed great to me. Conklin is very good. Tretter is in the same category as Bitonio to me even though he seems more consistent. Teller has been good one season between two other good players on the line so I'm not sold on him being our 6 best player even though he might be. We have a good line and I'm very happy about that but unless you replace one with dog crap I think you'd notice a bigger difference losing other positions.

I'd add Chubb to a top 3 even though he loses for positional value, especially with Hunt already on the roster but I think he is that good that he elevates himself to a top 3 anyway.

Agreed. He is too much of an impact to leave out.

Looking longterm-

Myles is going to destroy every Browns defensive record and be the greatest defensive player in franchise history:

Baker could possibly break Browns passing records. He just needs about 4 years:

Nobody is catching Jim Brown, but Nick is a fantastic talent.

I mean, maybe based on careers thus far, but absolutely not on anything we’ve seen since he’s been a part of this franchise.

Having him above players who’ve made pro bowls and all pros here, recently, is… questionable.

Terminating the contract of obj next year gives a world of options in free agency. I'd sooner have two guys of quality for 5 million than the memory of a hof caliber player.

Glad for a diversion from the doldrums of the NFL offseason.

Realistically, the only player we have who has shown HOF stuff is Garrett.

Chubb, maybe, if he can keep it up for 7-8 years.

Otherwise, we do not have anyone else even sniffing it.

Obj has 2.5 seasons of hof level play. And a couple of highlights from his time with the browns.

The 92 yarder vs the jets and the run vs the cowboys.
