Browns General Discussion

Hopefully we get rid of dead weight on the d-line. Absolutely LOVE the competition that unit is going to have. Need to light a fire in some dudes.

Feel the same way about WR. Berry needed to light a fire under some dudes on that unit too.

So assuming we want only 4 DTs-

The only “locks” are Tomlinson and Ika (you’re not gonna cut a 3rd round rookie before the final 53 unless he’s the worst player in camp and looks lazy). Those guys will play NT.

I could easily see Hurst and Hill beating out Elliott, Winfrey, and Togiai. They’d probably keep Togiai on the practice squad. Winfrey is in a lot of trouble too.

Money isn’t a big factor either because you’re talking about vet minimums versus rookie deals.

Then at WR, Browns fans (not on this site) need to get over their obsession with Jakeem Grant. There will never be another Josh Cribbs, just stop. Grant is 30 and damaged his Achilles.

It depends on the level of play from those guys, they could be forced to keep 5 if there is someone kicking a** at a consistent level.

Tampa 2 has only ever worked with HOF talent all over the field

Completely fair. The video said basically the LOB was the Tampa Bay 02’ defense.

If you have 2 elite pass rushers and a bunch of solid or good pass rushers- You’re going to have a historically good defense.

The only exception to that rule is the Colts defenses during the Manning years. There was nothing wrong with the scheme and they had all time great pass rushers. Those teams just didn’t have beef in the middle.

Those Colts teams would have been awesome for today’s NFL. They had a really tough time against some of the physical smash-mouth teams that the AFC had back then.

I agree with you.

However, I don’t think they could rely on just outscoring teams like they did.
