Though he probably had the best performance in CBB since Strasburg against Duke. So tomato tom-ah-to. Im not necessarily down on him. He's currently 1-1, but how much has he really grown during his time at Vandy? The concerns in high school are still concerns. He's just a damn good pitcher. He's not Strasburg level. He's probably going to be on the Casey Mize level, which is a damn good prospect, but not generational. The class right now looks weak as hell, but its also based off a lot of nothing at the moment with not much of a season. HS Pitching-D HS Hitting-C+ NCAA Pitching-C+ NCAA Hitting-B If I called my shot right now, Id say that Jud Fabian will be the #1 pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates next year. He is pure potential because of the shortened season. Skipped senior season to enroll at Florida. Will be 20 at draft time next year. Struggled as a freshman, but started off at .294/.407/.603, 5 HR, 6 2B, 2-2 SB, 13/18 BB/K. He's going to stick in center, where he should be above average defensively there with above average speed. He has some of the quickest hands Ive ever seen and I would love to see the velos off the bat. Plus power and getting on base. I could see some people throw George Springer comps on him. Very very intriguing going into 2020.
devils1854
Been reading and listening to reports from the first major showcase a few weekends ago in Birmingham. Its definitely helping to start to put together lists for the 2021 draft. Going to post my first mock for next year now. This first mock really lets me know just how many guys I can really speak about, and how many I really need to study. The draft order? A mix of what I think will happen and a little 60 game randomness. So please dont get angry with your teams location. This is just a mock. Not going to post any write ups but Ill answer any questions. 1.Pittsburgh-Jud Fabian||CF||Florida 2.Seattle-Kumar Rocker||RHP||Vanderbilt 3.Baltimore-Jack Leiter||RHP||Vanderbilt 4.Colorado-Brady House||3B/RHP||Winder Barrow, GA 5.Boston-Jaden Hill||RHP||LSU 6.Detroit-Adrian Del Castillo||C||Miami 7.Kansas City-Braylon Bishop||CF||Texarkana, AR 8.NY Mets-Matt McLain||SS||UCLA 9.San Francisco-Colton Cowser||RF||Sam Houston State 10.Toronto-Christian Little||RHP||Christian Brothers, MO 11.Miami-Alex Binelas||3B||Louisville 12.Milwaukee-Jordan Lawlar||SS||Jesuit Prep, TX 13.Texas-Hunter Goodman||C||Memphis 14.Chicago Cubs-Gunnar Hoglund||RHP||Ole Miss 15.Cleveland-Izaac Pacheco||3B||Friendswood, TX 16.Atlanta-Ty Madden||RHP||Texas 17.LA Angels-Benny Montgomery||CF||Red Land, PA 18.Minnesota-Marcelo Mayer||SS||Eastlake, CA 19.Arizona-Luke Leto||SS||Portage Central, MI 20.San Diego-Ian Moller||C||Wahlert, IA 21.Washington-Jonathan Cannon||RHP||Georgia 22.NY Yankees-Mike Vasil||RHP||Virginia 23.Houston-Andrew Painter||RHP||Calvary Christian, FL 24.Chicago Sox-Robby Martin||RF||Florida State 25.St Louis-Michael Braswell||SS||Campbell, GA 26.Cincinnati-Tyree Reed||CF||American Canyon, CA 27.Philadelphia-Sal Frelick||CF||Boston College 28.Tampa Bay-Alex Mooney||SS||Orchard Lake St Marys, MI 29.LA Dodgers-Chase Burns||RHP||Station Camp, TN 30.Oakland-Ethan Wilson||LF||South Alabama Max Ferguson||2B||Tennessee Christian Franklin||CF||Arkansas Parker Chavers||CF||Coastal Carolina Tommy Mace||RHP||Florida Ben Specht||RHP||Florida David Sharp||RHP||Clemson Seth Lonsway||LHP||Ohio State Steven Hajjar||LHP||Michigan Christian Moore||SS/RHP||Baylor, NY Cody Schrier||SS|JSerra Catholic, CA Noah Smith||SS||Marist, IL Jay Allen||CF||John Carroll Catholic, FL Lorenzo Carrier||CF/RHP||Appoquinimink, DE Hagen Smith||LHP||Bullard, TX Josh Hartle||LHP||Reagan, NC

mse326
I've always been meaning to find this out but can't find any good sources. Which schools/coaches do you think are good/bad at handling their pitchers? Mostly about the amount they are used but also ones that are good or bad at getting good mechanics. So not the skill level of the pitcher. I know Vandy has a good reputation of taking care of their guys. And I know Rice and TCU at least used to be pretty poor don't know if they still are. What are your opinions? Are any of them bad enough you wouldn't touch a pitcher from that school?

MikeT14
Nats have been hammering pitching the last couple of years. Would love to see them start trying to load up some positional players again.
devils1854
Fingers crossed we dont have any more hiccups this week. If that happens, at least 20 teams will have played 15 games and everyone but maybe the Cardinals will have played at least 10 games. So, I will put together a quick mock based on the draft order and Ill put together a few thoughts on at least the top 10. Still working on my rankings. Dont know when Ill have them, but right now my top 5 consists of 4 SEC players and a high schooler.
hrubes20
I'm too lazy to look, but have they discussed draft position for 2021 if this season gets cancelled? They can't honestly take 2020 records into consideration if there are no playoffs.

Can't see him doing anything though unless the season doesn't finish.

I remember reading the blurbs about the Commish having the final say over order, but I thought that only applied if there was no season. I guess the only thing we know for certain is that Manfred will give the Cardinals a comp pick for every day they had to postpone a game due to Covid. Yeah Manfried can set draft order if the season is less than 100 games I believe, but I think they are just going by winning percentage like the playoffs.
