There's 3 EXCELLENT, HIGHLY-ATHLETIC offball LB prospects available for Miami in the first round. OLB Micah Parsons, Penn St: This guy's athleticism is off the charts. Could easily be a Top 10 pick. ILB Dylan Moses, Bama: Bigtime player, very good athlete, coming off injury ILB Chaz Surratt, UNC: A senior who moved from QB last season and looked like an early ILB pick immediately.This will be Year 2 as a LB. I want Watson to sit out the season due to a contract dispute or something, so that the Fins can pick top 3 and bring Sewell in. Shift Jackson over to RT and reap the rewards. Too high for an OL, IMO. It doesn't matter how good he is, either. I'd trade out of that spot before I took Sewell at #3. Or go for Miami DE Rousseau. He's the best Oline prospect since Orlando Pace, who went #1 overall, and I guarantee the Rams don't regret making that pick. I like Rousseau as well, though. As long as you only expect Sewell to stick around for 4-5 years. If COVID doesn't blow up the economics of the NFL, God knows how much money he'll take to resign if he fulfills his potential (25M+?). It doesn't matter how good he is. I think OL gives back limited returns on investments. You just need to adequately block your defenders together as a unit. Spend the big resources on QB, DE/CB, and those who are big threats to score touchdowns. We rarely get chances on very high draft picks, I'd hate to use it on a blocker, regardless of his talent level. I look back on the Joe Thomas draft, and I'd take 4 guys before him. Would be our dynamic slot and return specialist. DE Gregory Rousseau, The U: He's looking to be 2021's Chase Young. He looks the part and is producing the part. Will be only a RS So. I can't find good free stats at the moment, but if you take the pressures/sacks allowed by a merely "good" starting LT, and compare him to an elite, nigh-flawless LT, I don't know if it's worth it to pay a market-setting, elite OT. $25M was just a number I threw out there, but Miami doesn't need to be setting the market on an OLman, IMO. I didn't list Chase because I thought he was purely a tall outside WR (like DP and PW), until I started typing this. He's actually 6'1", but I remember him only being in the slot a pretty small % of the time I watched him. He seemed to line up outside to the right a majority of the time, but I'm sure they could make it work here. I'm interested to follow him this season sans Burrow & Co. I wouldn't even mention Sewell if we had a "good" strating LT. Jackson is a monster project at LT and we don't have a RT worth talking about (Hunt is a RG all the way, and will be a terrific one). I'm sure the pressures/sacks allowed by a below average LT compared to an elite LT is quite substantial. But I will agree to disagree with you on this point. I honestly think Chase could play any receiver position well, but he makes a lot of sense for a few reasons: 1. He is an elite WR. I think he's the best WR prospect since Amari Cooper in 2015. 2. PW is coming off a blown knee, and the jury is out on how effective he will be. But even when healthy, I'm not sure PW is reason enough not to take an elite talent like Chase. 3. Chan Gailey's scheme incorporates more 10 personnel. Granted, Gesicki may be used as one of the WR in 10 personnel sets, but there will still be plenty of times that we need 4 WRs. Much better than his WR teammate, Justin Jefferson, which the Vikings just selected in the first round. The Dolphins probably won't be within reach of Chase, who could go Top 5, depending on the QB situation. WR Jaylen Waddle, Bama: One of the fastest players in college football. Profiled as a slot guy who's a threat to score anytime. Takes short throws and bubble screens to the house, and is a top return specialist. Will be seen frequently mocked to Miami due to the Tua connection. Check out his YT Video. EXCITING PLAYER DT Marvin Wilson, FSU: A big hell-raiser who can play anywhere upfront in a 3-4. He's versatile and can play LT or RG proficiently and IMO would also be an excellent RT. I predict his 2021 draft range of being picks 11 through 22 which will probably put him in range for our second pick in the first round. I think he would take over immediately at either OT spot. Keep in mind that our current HC appears to know what he is looking for and may not be willing to wait for either of last drafts OT picks to develop with Tua waiting to take over the Offense. Leatherwood is a Florida native that can deal with the high temperatures of South Florida and that's something I personally pay attention to when considering O and D Linemen. Additionally I think our priority in the 2021 draft will be looking for a Defensive Playmaker and either an OLineman or WR with our first 2 picks.....a caveat to this is the possibility of Clemson RB Travis Etienne in late round 1.
