He’s not playing for us or anyone without one. Exactly, any trade suggestions must be based around a new contract - the only reason this is a debate is because he wants a trade or a contract. Therefore to evaluate them, you have to evaluate the players you will lose to pay him to have any sense of whether or not 'its a good trade'. (Players demanding a trade and want to get paid ) Might bet a year of decent production and then stuck with a massive contract. To be good long term you need to get production from your 1st contract under market paid players. We're tight on cash now...the cap could very well go down next year...and what cash we do have is targeted towards extensions/new contracts for guys already on our roster. Not happening.
